The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets have been startlingly similar this season, and not because they are my two favorite teams. Broncos vs Jets Studs and Duds - Mile High Report
There are some things you can't explain. Tim Tebow's ability to step up his play and win games in the 4th quarter is the epitome of "speechless". There is no way to describe it. To quote Skip Bayless, "He. Just. Wins. Football. Games". I don't know how he did it, but the guy orchestrated a 95 yard game winning drive capped by a 20 yard TD run by Tebow and led the Broncos to a 17-13 victory in prime time over the New York Jets.

WEEK 11 BY THE NUMBERS: Tim Tebow, our offense, The Drive AJE and More! - Mile High Report
A win is a win is a win, and oh man, what a win!!!  Revis and the Jets defense sure backed up their talk until the last Bronco drive.  Until then, the broncos had amassed 3 offensive points and just 130 total yards.  Our offense started in their territory three times, but only got a FG out of their field position.

Good morning Tim. I had a pleasant evening last night.

And you?

Tim Tebow's career record is 4-3. He is the worst 1st round pick EVER! He is an embarrassment to the NFL! Did I say that with enough conviction to get a job with ESPN?

I stayed up late watching that final run over and over again.

I’ve never been to a home game, so I love listening to the crowd as Tebow entered the end zone. Not quite what I am used to when I attend road games in Oakland or San Diego. ;-)

For sure

I don’t know if its a recepie for winning because we have some good offenses coming up but it sure has worked fo far.
Tim scored when we needed it, but our defense was the reason. We are tough to stop if the other team has to pass

Thanks Tim!

I’m not reading much of the Broncos ‘news’ lately – way too much hyperbole and pure opinion, and very rarely is there any actual objective ‘reporting’ done lately. I guess that’s what Tim does to reporting. Makes the pure opinion come out, and leaves the true analysis for the offseason, I guess. LoL, I’m just enjoying what I know I saw. There’s plenty of people out there who’ll love debating. I’ll just love the rest of the season quietly (well, except during the games, then I’m not so quiet).

I love what Sean posted that he does to opposing* coaches, above. Classic.

Dude, rewatch the game

These receivers are dropping several balls every game. I don’t want to hear any excuses of the ball needing to be in ideal places for them to catch it. They get paid MILLION$ to catch a ball and you’re making excuses for them? If it hits your hands, hold onto it. Calvin Johnson catches anything within the vicinity of a two car garage. These are professionals. THEY HAVE TO CATCH THE BALL!

You have to admit that Decker was awful last night. Easily his worst game as a starting WR.

Tim Tebow's career record is 4-3. He is the worst 1st round pick EVER! He is an embarrassment to the NFL! Did I say that with enough conviction to get a job with ESPN?

No. That is not the way to say it and remain honest. Decker was horrible last night and he capped it with the worst false start of the season on 3rd and 2.

If you want to throw stones, Decker needs to be hit first and hardest for his poor performance last night.

Easily my favorite WR on the team and has great potential.

I think he’d prefer to put it all on Tebow.

Granted, that’s Rod freakin Smith We’re talking about, but I agree with him, as a receiver, if it is close enough for me to even get one hand on it, and I didn’t catch it, it would be my fault.

all of our WR's are barely over 20 years old

So they probably haven’t been catching balls that long. Especially when you consider most Peewee and High school programs rarely through the ball.

While Tebow hasn’t been 1st string both seasons, I guarantee all of the WR"s have had time to atleast catch some balls from him. They should be able to adjust by now. Steve Young and Vick’s WR’s certainly didn’t have that big of a difficulty adjusting.

Finally they get paid (lots of money) to make catches in stressful situations and practice making catches in stressful situations.

I would say i expect any NFL WR’s to catch the ball 75-80% of the time it hits his hands.

by trumanj on Nov 18, 2011 3:04 PM MST up reply actions

Yeah but asking your WR

to completely lay out for a catch and come up with it every 4 times that they drop it is also a very tall task and some of that can actually be put on Tim Tebow believe it or not. Thats my point. Its not that the WR’s are just dropping the ball. Its also they aren’t always the best thrown balls either. Partial blame is all I am looking for. its like Tebow is faultless around here

I in no way said it was all on the receivers,

dude has got a lot to work on, but you can’t ask your receivers to come up with their end of the play? Receivers have to make plays to dude, they get paid to do something don’t they? Kind of a chicken and the egg arguement, but don’t put all the blame on Tebow for dropped passes if thats your arguement

Thats where I like to say

catchable balls, but not drops. Could have been better delivered. DT comeback route for a 3rd down conversion, as hes wide open, but all the sudden has to dive straight right when he shouldn’t have to. I know the Decker throw looks like a very easy catch, but an 8 yard wobbly fast ball is very very very hard to catch it needs to be a tight spiral as he is falling out of bounds.

I agree you like to them to come up with plays thats there job, but sometimes its tough when your diving. Somewhat equal blame, but I just dont like the 4 drops could have been 13/21 because three of those might have been 3 poorly thrown balls in NFL standards

im with ya man, you can't add stats that aren't there

but im TIRED of hearing stats with no legs to them come out when it comes to Tebow. With Mayock saying all night that “That is a throw a pro QB would’ve made” when HE HIMSELF had Sanchez as ready as anyone as a pro QB coming out of college and Sanchez looked like crap last night but he said nothing when they dropped balls.

if the MSM wants to throw out wmpty stats why can’t we?
i think if you look at it like 13/21 than you can see viable improvement. He had the bal lthere, and his teammates let him down on some and he let them down on others. But empty stats are becoming the norm with MSM

How much of that do you put on injury/playcalling

from where I was sitting those 2 played a huge role. This weeks offense was way diffent than we saw in Oakland, you can’t take away every other threat on the offense, trade the only veteran reciever then expect a guy like Tebow to look more like 2010 Michael Vick instead of like 2005 Michael Vick

Play calling some/injury none

Injuries always will happen and running back is probably the best place for it to happen in all reality. The offense is easy to stop if you play gap assignment, and plug the middle which is what the Jets did with 3 defensive tackles. We couldn’t get the big plays we were getting because they played good, strong gap assignment football, which is how you stop the run and the option

Really no part? Johnson should be on special teams

not getting the bulk of the carries in the second half. Don’t tell me the a healthy Willy Mac doesn’t help us keep them a little bit honest rather than being able to tee off on every play, and if Cromartie and Revis are the corners the last thing I want is throwing potential pix sixes to the flat.

I just wonder where a simple 5 yard pass

went? We couldn’t just do a simple 5 or 7 yard slant or out with a 3 step drop just to keep the defense honest a bit?

Oh no

I gotcha dude! Tebow really needs to work on being consistently accurate – in the pocket, or not.

That TD pass to Decker last week, was from the pocket. Some people think Tebow’s accuracy is fine when out of the pocket. I disagree.

He is inconsistent, period. And that, he needs to work on. Faultless? Far from it, my Bronco Brother. But also, exciting and when We’re winning, I will be focusing on way more positives than negatives, and I figure most other Broncos fans will do the same. Not saying that bringing up the negatives should be frowned upon, just that- that’s the way it is. And again, Tim is far from faultless. Though he didn’t drop the football, and allow the other team to get the fumble, with the game on the line, like a certain other QB did last year (who is far more accurate, by the way), in almost an identical situation.

With Coach Zorro on our side, we will slice opponents to ribbons. Tim Tebow gives me hope and I already have faith and charity in my heart! I see a propitious future rife with Lombardis for our Broncos!

I was wondering this morning if Rex Ryan would like to lick Tim Tebow's big 'toe' to see if it brings him luck?

Kiszla gave me an idea with his post; "The “NASTY” SOBs", a name for our defense…The Nasty Sons of Orange and Blue! Kinda has a ring to it…
