The PASSER rating is a very interesting stat as it incorperates attempts, completions, total yards, yards per attempt, tds, ints, 20+ yrds completed, 40+ yrds, sacks and possibly more. We've long recognized this as a valuable way to measure a QB because players like Rodgers (130.7), Brady (102.0) & Brees (101.3) always seem to rise to the top and the stat reflects their play just as at the bottom we have Gabbert (63.6), Grossman (65.3) & Painter (67.4). Every other QB is above 70 and below 100. Tebow is at 79.8. But in the 4th quarter he has a 107.0 PASSER rating. And if his team is trailing by 7 or less pts it's 137.5. Rodgers in the 4th 111.8 and 158.3 if trailing - Brady 106.1 & 98.9, Brees 91.6 & 93.6. Give me one of these guys that are at their best with the game on the line. Tebow is one of those guys. He obviously needs to improve his passing in the 2nd & 3rd quarters (99.9 rating in the 1st qtr) but you can't ignore his success in the 4th.
20 minutes agoThe QBR for all the top QB's in football for the 4th quarter and when trailing. Tim Tebow is up there amongst the best.... he laso a very nice 1st quarter QBR as well.
