Broncos Fans: Defend the Stands
I want to talk about one play from the Lions game. Easily the most embarrassing play on all levels for the Broncos in recent memory.
http://www.nfl.com/videos/auto/09000d5d8239d43b/Young-scores-on-41-yard-pass-play
Titus Young scores a 41-yard touchdown after Brian Dawkins and Andre Goodman messed up and leave him wide open in the end zone.
That's not the most embarrassing part of the play. Young then proceeds to jump into the South Stands and the fans let him. The South Stands for cryin' out loud.
Young made it out alive and unscathed. That wouldn't happen in Oakland or Kansas City. It would happen in San Diego and I'm afraid Broncos fans may be headed in that direction.
The Lions showed no respect for the Broncos on the field and after the game. The Broncos let them. Then they showed no respect for the fans and the fans let them. Broncos fans shouldn't be doormats.
Next time a player tries to jump into the stands, push them out. Pour beer on them. There is no rule that you have to let a player jump into the stands. He should understand the risk.
Of course, Titus Young understood there was no risk in the South Stands anymore. He understood that Broncos fans have been tamed.
So please, Broncos fans who are able to go to games, toughen up. Protect our house. Just because our team is going to roll over doesn't mean you have to. Do not let yourself and your Broncos brothers and sisters be disrespected.

have you been to the stadium lately?
we were standing in the same SOUTH stands, and asked to sit down or leave, because we were obstructing views of other fans, who were sitting on a third 9 against the raiders on MONDAY night. My college team sucks, (NMSU) we stand from the first whistle to the last whistle.
I agree...I don't have tickets or anything, but you have to Bronco up people. This is our house.

wow!
I missed the game. Had i seen this i would have died inside. If it had been me i know in my heart of hearts i would of tried to rip his helmet off head included. I am so ashamed. .. . . graff you should of gotten thrown out! F that and anybody who asks me to sit down at a broncos game. of coarse ive been arrested after 2 games for physical altercations. haha f’em!
oh we did get thrown out,
but it is sad that our stadium has become a great place for visiting fans, It’s freaking sad. all that Wine and cheese. I miss the old south stands I sat in as a kid, where raider fans would be bloody by the 4th qtr for cheering first downs. we act like we are the colts. NOT the Broncos.

HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE 1,000 REC.S and how did T. Young not get pulled in to the crowd!!
Man I’ve been waiting all morning here at work for lunch to start so I could jump on here and applaud you for writing this (it crossed my mind this past Sun too when it occured but I stay steadfast in my personal isolation from it all until we have clear pic and will come on to air out my laundry like Thoreau occasionally)…AND
Let me say this…
IF HE LANDED IN MY LAP, I WOULD BE NATIONAL NEWS!!! If he landed in my lap I would take the gesture as an intentional slap in the face. No way you come in my house and treat me how YOU want. Get the F*** outta here! Been a fan here since before the little boy Titus Young was born so don’t come in here acting like you own this place.
Seriously……that was a low point I’ve not seen yet as a 35 year fan…I really hope the collective fans that attend can get this into their head…next time rip his hemet off and email me if you need help w bail! Wow…just wow!
Now, this weekend, can we please go take this out on ‘that franchise’ (refuse to acknowledge by name) I hate despise loathe abhor the most (however Det, Young and Scheffler are trying to change that)…
Let’s go TAKE the respect and show why people should respect us…that is the only way to change it! Don’t gripe or mope…get up and kick some tail until you can’t!
Go Broncos!

Bfree....?
Can have that beer if you’re gonna throw it on an enemy…waste of good beer and hell at that price I’d rather (fill in a dispicable retaliating act in the name maniacal fanaticism here)!

Why Titus did it?
Probably because he was a Bronco just a year ago(Boise ST). Now as for the fans….I have no effing idea why they embraced him.
Throwing a beer on him should have been the least of what happened
And any fan who empties the beer should drink for free for the rest of the game. The Lions are now in my top 10 of hated teams after last Sunday. The celebrations were more than a slap in our faces and then they continued to talk after the game without the balls to use their names in the stories. Silver Crush my ass. If this happens again, the player needs to pay and pay dearly.

I told people that 'tebowing' was a bad idea.
its not funny when it comes around and bites you in the ass.
and i would of grabbed Titus Young and drug him into the crowd, never to be seen from again.
(evil laughter)
I'll eat this 'Tebow Crow' when it has been given adequate time to cook.

I was thinking more along the lines of introducing him to hockey.
One person takes off the helmet while the other pulls the jersey over his head… It would have to be a tag team event to get it done quick enough, but it would be sweet.

Some Reasons Why Crowd Dynamics Have Changed at Broncos Home Games
The Denver Broncos used to be the only show in town at one point. When other teams came along, e.g., the Rockies and the Avalanche, the Broncos still were a big draw because they had John Elway and were always in the playoff race or were an elite team, e.g., 1996-1998.
When the Broncos moved to what is now Sports Authority Field at Mile High, fka, Invesco Field at Mile High, in 2001, the price of tickets went up. Fans who had once sat together for decades no longer were next to one another, or didn’t buy tickets at the new stadium altogether.
Additionally, Colorado’s and Denver’s demographics have changed considerably—beginning in the late 1990s to the present. The state and in particular the Denver metro has seen an influx of non-native Coloradoans moving in—particularly from the Rust Belt (Lions and Browns country), the Upper Midwest (Packers, Bears, Vikings), and parts of the Northeast, and California. These individuals bring their own sports teams’ allegiances.
Furthermore, the proliferation of the Internet has made booking airfare, lodging, and the buying and selling of tickets much easier. Thus, non-Bronco fans can get their hands on tickets at our stadium more readily.
Finally, the cost of season tickets are expensive, and in a very uncertain economy for such fans, the tickets get sold at times—usually to the highest bidder—even if he or she is a Lions, Packers, Raiders, or Steelers fan.

Well if you looked closer
you would see that he jumped into two Lions fans.

This is the crux
What are the Broncos fans supposed to do? Beat up the Lions fans at Mile High? That’s stupid thug crap. I hate that Young was in our stands like that. But the fact that he jumped into Lions fans makes it impossible for Broncos fans to defend as they would like.

At soccer matches in Brazil
It is common for fans to p*ss in their empty beer cups and throw them at fans of the opposing team. Also, last year when Vasco was in danger of being sent to the lower league with one more loss, the fans lined the street outside the stadium and pelted the other teams bus with rocks. Before the match, the fans threw so many objects at the other team on the field that they were unable to warm up. Vasco won and stayed in the top league. Talk about defending your house! Of course, soccer means a lot more to people in Brazil than football does in the US…
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Unfortunately, this is the GOOD part when talking about fanbase here in Brazil
Here we should talk about jump on other fans, fights involving 300 vs 300 of each firm, stabbings, murders, running overs, hijacking to torture the opposite fans, etc etc etc.
This is not “defend your house”. This is called gangs wearing soccer jerseys. Those firms sucks (I was part of that 8 years of my life). You guys in USA are blessed to wear your team’s jersey on the opposite stadium without the fanbase needing to be divided and treated like cattle.
It’s all very sad what happens in Brazil, so I really expect that things don’t go the same path there. The fan of the other team is just a fan who loves another team, not an enemy who should be smacked or rejected in our home. It starts this way, and ends what we see after every rivalry game in Brazil… with crimes being comitted.

I agree,
it shouldn’t ever get to that point, but there is something to be said for letting the player of an opposing team that has mocked you and beaten you all game long go lunging into our home stands. It pretty much summed up what I’ve been thinking for a while now. The fans don’t really care right now, the team doesn’t really care right now, and frankly I don’t even really care right now because I can’t just watch my team without having to hear about awful Tebow is (as if our other options were lights out before we made the switch.) I don’t think I’ve ever been as apathetic about this team as I am now.
...and then the Broncos rose from the ashes
Yup, just like this team is made up of mostly mercenaries who only care about their paychecks, a lot of the fans that go are no longer die hard. I would love it if they were like the members on here, I bet we wouldnt see that crap goin down

Brandon Lloyd
and Kyle Orton were the two biggest. One is gone, and I don’t expect it to be long before the other follows suit. And the sooner, the better.

Idk grind, I look around this team, and really, besides Tebow and maybe Miller, do you really see anyone who isn’t just about the money? Doom and Bailey with their giant contracts, DJ underwhelming, Moreno a KnowShow as usual, there isn’t a heart and soul player on this team. Dawk is the closest we got, and he’s an Eagle. We’ve sorely missed an Al Wilson type for a long time.

I think you could say that about many teams, sadly.
But it is true. Bailey is still Bailey, and Doom has all but disappeared since he signed that mega-deal. I think it is safe to finally say that Knowshon was not worth the price. McGahee has been our best back, and he is a retread. I love the guy, but he isn’t someone that can be trusted going forward. BDawk is amazing, what can you say about the guy that hasn’t been said. It’s too bad he didn’t spend his entire glorious career in Denver. He will retire an Eagle probably after this season.
And as far as an Al Wilson type, well, unfortunately those don’t just grow on trees my friend. Champ is the quiet type, which is fine, but we really need to have the yin to his yang out there… and we just don’t. Not yet. Perhaps Von can fill that role. We are just a ship with so many holes, and the water has been pouring in mercilessly fast. I never thought we would be any good this season, and I guess it just sucks now that it’s a reality. Hopefully we can blast the Raiders this weekend. I think that would be just what this team needs.

Indeed. A blow out is just what the Dr ordered

It’s time for Bronco fans to get back to their roots and cheer for the name that’s on the front of the jersey.
I am not interested in your exaggeration of reality. I am interested in reality itself.
