While every player has some distractors, the mass amount of disparaging remarks aimed his way, to me, speaks of something else. When I hear those same talking heads making excuses for other players, in the exact same circumstance, it hacks me off. You have to be biased or clueless to not notice this...
Yes I am a Gator fan, yes, I saw every college game he played and I know what he is capable of. Just because he goes into the NFL does not change what he did in the past. Very few players come into the NFL, "NFL ready". Some come in more ready than others. And while you may be tired of people pointing to his college career and yell, THIS AINT COLLEGE ANYMORE, obviously what a player does in college counts for something or people wouldn’t be looking at luck and thinking he is the best thing since Jack in the Box Tacos (another post, please).
When you have a bunch of talking head football geniuses like Hodge, Sharpe, Toad Mcshithead and let’s face it, most everyone else, saying Tebow CANT play, then they defend people of less than stellar reputation, make up excuses for dang near every other player, well it gets MY back up. And when Tebow comes in and takes us from 1-4 to 5-5 and STILL barely gets respect it hacks me. Yes, they revamped the offense but isn’t that what they are supposed to do if what they have been doing isn’t working? Do you continue to run a vanilla offense? If they get to the playoffs and are tied with the Raiders do the Raiders get the tie breaker because of the offense they run? Are there style points? No.
I’m just glad we have a player we can point to and be proud of. I never have to worry about waking up and hearing he has been arrested and for me, that’s important. I am also one of those who thinks Elway needs to remember the old saying...if you have nothing nice to say about someone, dont say anything. We all know T2 needs to improve in some areas, but elway has a QB that has helped his team go from 1-4 to 5-5. No, he didnt do it alone but if you think we would have been here with KO, you are wacked out of your skull...lol And by the way, look back at all of Tebows passes. In every game there were enough dropped balls that if they were caught (and they could have been) he would be well over the magic 63%.
So the longer he gets dogged the more I will back him.
