It was an absolute treat to be a part of this tonight!

I haven’t felt this good, and been this excited about our team, in what seems like eons. The Super Bowls felt real good, the later Shanahan years did too at times. But this is different. I’ve never even heard of something like this before. The improbable is probable with the new look Broncos. The only wish I have, and this wish will make this team an assassin on the football field, is to see us win all game long, instead of the two minute drill at the end of the 4th.

Anyways – Go Broncos!!! And John, thank for this tonight man, I had a real good time with you all!!! The pos vibes haven’t felt this good in MHR land for a good while it seems. It’s beautiful to me how much the culture of our team, and fanbase have changed since that last MHR…. when the season looked bleak and tasted bitter.

Thanks for the post John!

It’s 4am here on the west coast and I just finished listening to the podcast while prepping for my finals. For those of you wanting to listen, I suggest you do. If you don’t got the time, I listed some quotes from the podcast that I thought were pure gems:

(on Tim Tebow starting 2012)
“Stop worrying about 2012. You know when you should be worrying about 2012? When you’re the Kansas City Chiefs and you just fired your head coach.”

(on Merril Hoge)
“I’ve never seen anything like this where these guys are paid to give their opinion, they’re paid to analyze, they’re paid to do these things. But I’ve never seen these sports guys go so far off the deep end by pinning themselves into a corner with an opinion that they have no way of getting out of.”

(on being a team not a player)
I am not going to go about bashing the Broncos…to celebrate the Broncos.

(on Tebow’s stats)
“Would it be better if he was completing 70% of his passes and their record was 3-9?”

(on Tebow’s off field personality)
It’s icing on the cake that it’s a guy that I can buy his jersey for my kids. My kids don’t have a Broncos jersey cause there’s no one I wanted to buy one for.

(on Tebow’s work ethic)
“According to reports, he’s out there an hour before practice until an hour after practice. Just throwing. And he comes in on Tuesdays too. Their off days.”

(on drafting Von Miller in a 4-3 D)
“Give me athletes man. Give me athletes that can rush the passer. I’ll figure it out later.”

(on difference between McD and Fox)
by Stig “McDaniels was a student of the game. He micromanaged and tried to think for the players. In chess, he played the board. Fox gets out of the way of his players after he prepares them. Fox sets his man up to play the man in front of him. Until Fox/McCoy learn who they’re playing, they study and prepare for the game. We play the man, not the board.”

(on Fox)
“Theres a saying: Knowledge is knowing tomatoes are a fruit. Wisdom is not putting them in fruit salad. That’s kinda John Fox. There’s knowledge and then there’s wisdom. That’s what John Fox has.”

(being fans)
“Be fans however you wanna be fans. However you wanna do it. But don’t get caught up in the negativity because it doesn’t matter anymore. It mattered before. Maybe. But right now, we’re winning.”

(on “luck”)
“I don’t care about what if’s. I don’t believe in luck. Preparation + Opportunity = Luck.”

“The Broncos are fortunate.”
And so are we, as Broncos fans! Thanks again for the cast, John. Go Broncos!

P.S. As a bonus:
(on hypothetical situations)
“If my aunt had nuts, she’d be my uncle!”

"I've decided to forgive all my enemies. Why? To give my vengeance the element of surprise."

All excellent points!

The last one made me LOL!

Hey sweet!

Good to have the show back! Sorry I missed it! It’s been way too long!

People fear the Tebow because they do not understand the Tebow.

John, great show

And I agree on most points. I even agree that Skip Bayless is a fraud and agree he is the contrarian.

However, Skip has gotten more passionate about the debate. The funny thing is, the ones who were debating with him are starting to agree with him. The debates about over.

Skip, I believe, even though he was fraudulent with his true beliefs initially, I even think now believes. His arguments are way out of line now, but I do believe he believes.

After the Detroit game, you complimented one of my posts that was rather lengthy (found here: http://www.milehighreport.com/2011/11/1/2531724/mhr-radio-9pm-mdt-tonight ). I was a Tebow supporter from the start, however believed that the FO wasn’t going to give him a chance to succeed, and had some serious doubts about Tebow moving forward with the organization.

I thought our season was lost, and was hoping our FO would stock for future success. I didn’t want to suck for Luck, wanted the chips to fall where they may, but thought Luck was a possibility. I even stated if you could trade Champ for Luck straight up, I’d make the trade. Why? We were a sinking ship I thought. I think everyone thought that. I don’t know one fan out there that didn’t think we’d be in this situation, unless they were as high as Skip Bayless!

Boy oh boy how far we’ve come! What a story that is being written.

My thoughts have changed. I think Elway is on the Tebow express, and he will be the starter for next season. I do think they will look for a wide receiver with possibly their first round pick for a #1 threat. Drops are part of the game, I agree, but the Broncos (even though they have a young core of receivers whom are still learning) needs one more receiver. They need that deep threat. I’m not sure DT has it after his injury. I could be wrong, but I’m not going to analyze every play, just like you.

They do have more pressing needs, corner, line backer (maybe), DT, RB and some depth on the O – Line. But I think they’d like to get one more receiver. Especially since I don’t believe Eddie Royal will be around next season. This is a “What have you done for me lately league”, and Eddie hasn’t done much since his rookie season.

Bunkley deserves to come back. He deserves a 3 year contract, I’m not sure I’d sign him for any longer or less, but the man who we haven’t brought up is Ty Warren. Our defensive line has been really good, however they have their moments, like any line does. Ty Warren, will he solidify our line that much more? I think so. We need someone we can develop IMO.

Rahim Moore will be a stud. He’s a rookie, and has been outplayed by Quintin only due to Moore’s mental mistakes. Rookies make them, it’s expected. Carter hasn’t had as many mistakes, but we are looking at our two future safeties. The sky is the limit for those two and Rahim reminds me of Dawkins – he’s a hard hitting safety.

I’ve been wrong before. The comment I posted above was wrong. Tebow has written his own story this season. If he beats the Patriots, I don’t know that Elway will even draft a QB this season, at least if they bring back Brady Quinn or some other veteren to sit behind Tebow. We have to remember, we have Adam Weber still, and most teams do not carry 3 quarterbacks on the active roster. Do we honestly need to draft one if Quinn comes back? Probably not.

We’ve all been wrong, I thank the stars too! Tebow is a person anyone can admire. Children can look to him to be a role model, and a damn good one too, regardless of if you think his faith is contrary to your own. The NFL needs more Tim Tebow’s more than our Tim Tebow needs the NFL.

Hopefully with Tim being the centerpiece of every network on TV, we start seeing more orange and blue in opposing stands in the near future than we do now. And we see more now than we have in the past.

Will we win a Super Bowl with Tim? I think it’s possible. This year? I have my doubts. Playoffs though, even if we lose our first game, it is a phenomenon that we even made it that far all things considered.

Solidify our defense, give us some depth and let a few of our newer players develop and we will be contenders again. The one thing we have that MOST teams out there do not is heart, and that is one thing that cannot be quantified.

I know these are just a bunch of random thoughts and I apologize for jumping around – but like Tebow said in his presser after the Chicago game, “It’s been like a whirlwind”

Q. What's the difference between the Chicago Bears without Forte & the Taliban?
A. The Taliban has a running game!

If Eddie goes

I want Andre Roberts from the Cardinals to replace him. That kid is a stud!

I'm not sure we'd get anything for Eddie in a trade

but I could be wrong.

well

I guess I meant if Andre Roberts is a free agent, we should go get him. I don’t think Eddie would be viable in a trade either

But I still think we’ll draft our own this upcoming draft.

I thought the same thing - Dawkins wouldn't be that bad either

but if you want to give them a face of the franchise, Tebow is now the face of the franchise, and one you can be proud of!

I threw this around in the chat room last night, but here goes again for the sake of discussion

Biggest Bronco enigma:

Knowshon Moreno?
Ty Warren?
Mario Fannin?
Rahim Moore?
Julius Thomas?
Zane Beadles (does he stay a starter – do we try an upgrade, then make him the swing guy?)
Nate Irving?
Ryan McBean & Marcus Thomas (are they good, should we search elsewhere?)
Joe Mays?
