Hoge is a dumbass and everyone else that was so fired up about Tebow not being a QB
It’s ridiculous to make such a claim without actually see him play. To stake your career in guaranteeing a QB will fail without first seeing him play is dumbassness
MOZGOD Member #35
Am I supposed to respect his opinion
now that he’s admitted he was wrong? Well, I certainly respect him to admitting to what even a 4 year old knew, so there’s that. But Hoge, like so many pundits, gets paid to have opinions and to sound like he knows what he’s talking about. He sure sounded 100% confident when he spoke of TT! So, how many other things does he sound 100% confident about does he know nothing about?

So let me get this straight, Hoge no longer believes it’s “embarrassing for Tebow to win an NFL game where Tim is the starting QB”…. And that wasn’t apparent when he was 6-1 last week?

I'd like to give a shout-out to Demaryius Thomas....
Many of us didn’t think he would even see the field this season, yet he’s slowly coming back from injuries and beginning to look like a true weapon for this team.
Yeah, he had a case of the dropsies this week, but let’s cut the kid some slack. Without him, we probably wouldn’t have won the last 2 games. :)
Shake off those drops DT and you will be money in the bank!
W-L record doesn't matter to me.... I just want to see a team on the rise at the end of the year!
Minnesota? Yes. Chicago.. DT hurt Denver more than helped.
He still has a lot of work and must stay healthy for the remainder of the season. If he does that, I’m ready to give him the benefit of the doubt for 2012 as our #1 WR heading into the off-season.

I hope that DT and Decker are working the shit out of the jugs machine
Gotta start catching those balls earlier…
MOZGOD Member #35
Roy Williams made a beautiful 3rd and long catch vs Denver that was a much harder grab than anything DT or Decker laid on the field. That was a WR just doing his job.
WRs are supposed to make the hard catches often and rarely (if ever) drop the ones that hit them in the chest, stomach, both hands, etc.

Brian Urlacher made the stupid statement that we should have never won that game (against the Bears)...
I’ve got news for Mr Urlacher, we spotted the Bears 17 points in the game and they only mustered 10 points in the whole contest…DT’s missed TD pass, Chris Harris easy pick 6/1 PA, and Matt praters bad kick in the first half that should have never been blocked! Those are single opportunities in the game that that change the outlook of it. The Broncos aren’t taking advantage of those plays and it forces the whole team to fight back in the end.
If you don’t believe me, the Bears only had two (2) sustained drives in the entire game! For whatever reason why the team as a whole has to get their collective heads out of their butts and start the game like they finish it. And quit crying about playcalling or anything else OC Mike McCoy does, it called EXECUTION!!! These player are suppose to be professional athletes for 60 minutes not 5…

very good points. We should have been up 14-0 and then it wouldn't have been an issue. Caleb Hanie would not have led his team back.
Mr. Urlacher would do well to consider this and give credit where it is due.

OK, I'm seeing one issue that bothers me a bit about Fox
He was talking yesterday about the O’s struggles getting going early and explained it away (partially) as not really knowing how the other team is going to begin the game defending them. I believe Fox has too much of a reactionary mindset when it comes to his offense. Wait and see and react to the other team. This can be good to a point but your good offenses are ones that have an attacking mindset. They don’t let the other teams D dictate to them. Perhaps Fox needs to come out and just let TT do what he does best from the start and see if he and the offense can actually get the D on it’s heels from the get-go. This reactionary mind-set could be the result of him being a Defensive minded coach. I see more weapons on our O than what we are using.

Agree with this
Let Tebow loose early on. Does he have something against building a lead, or scoring on an opening drive? He’s done well so far bringing Tebow along. Patriots at home pose a perfect opportunity to let Tebow go to work. You know for certain that the Pats will assume we’ll run the ball the first play. Just ONE time, let’s switch it up.
I think it (attacking early) is easier said than done
His offensive “attack” is the most conservative game plan out there. Nobody else is doing this. Remember, this is a passing league, like everybody says, attack mode. Fox’s game plan is to wear both sides of the ball down, wear the opposing offense down with consistent Harassment and good D, and wear down the defense with consistent running and a mild threat of passing unless more passing is absolutely necessary. This isn’t reactionary, it is the game plan, make fewer mistakes, take less chances, and force your opponent to make those mistakes with your defense until you absolutely need to “attack.” Nobody else has run their offense like this in a long time in the NFL, and therefore Fox/McCoy don’t know how each defense is going to react. There is no film. Therefore, each game kind of looks a little like trial and error. Each defense thinks they have the solution. One reason why we are getting all of this press is not because Tebow is “god’s Qb” and it is unexplainable, it is because we are doing everything differently than the whole NFL and it is working and blowing the minds of so called experts.

Hoge radio interview
Merril Hoge Comes Down To Earth.
A recent post of mine lambasted Hoge for a glaring lack of integrity in covering the Broncos and Tebow. After listening to his radio interview he has earned at least another listen for he owned up to virtually every aspect of his misplaced perspective re Tebow’s OVERALL affect on his team.
You know, on further review, there is a growing distaste for ANY commentator that yells and screams about anyone or anything. In fact, I’m getting tired of hearing all these guys yelling and talking over each other like an out of control 3rd grade class.
"Peace, a journey without distance to a place we have never left."
+10000! I hated this new "style" of commentary when it began, what...10-15 yrs ago. The fake yelling,
over-the-top reactions to everything and everyone. It was funny seeing guys who are mild-mannered trying to imitate those who did this. Lou Holtz comes to mind, basically a mild guy he would try to ramp it up in it looked so fake… when these guys do this I don’t think they realize how much it affects their credibility. Look at Tom Jackson, well respected and yet he keeps just being himself, straight-forward, plain spoken, and, well respected. The yellers simply wear me out and usually don’t have anything intelligent to say.

Love this part of the SI story
“Before the game,‘’ Prater told me afterward, "I kicked one from 70. This was really an unusual day for December in Denver. Usually it’s cold and the ball is hard, and it is usually windy. But it was warm today, and the ball was really traveling. And when I went out to kick, I remember we were supposed to be having 5 to 10 mile-per-hour winds today, but we were really lucky. There was no wind.
And the wind shall be calm, and it shall be warm, and Matt Prater shall be able to kick one from 75.
If I can't have high expectations that succeed, I''d rather have high expectations and be disappointed than have low expectations and be resigned to losing.

Funny seeing articles about Tebow being the NFL MVP or a Pro Bowler after reading articles about Dove Valley leaks of 4th string or proclamations of “worst 1st round draft pick ever”. All in one season no less.
Tim seems to cover the full spectrum when it comes to his skill set, current production and potential. But why?
I wonder when someone MSM realizes that Tebow is currently a Top 20 NFL QB that is improving every week. That he should be judged as any other young QB. If the MSM can take the road less traveled and just report on him vs the likes of other NFL QBs like Ponder, Matt Ryan, Flacco, Bradford and Josh Freeman. It’s actually not a hard thing to do and doesn’t require absurd hyperbole about NFL MVP or worst embarrassment ever premises.
It would be strange indeed for someone MSM to write about Tebow in comparison to his QB peers. Just write about football instead of religion, miracles, luck, charity, hate, etc. Doesn’t seem that hard to me?

TT is a young, high potential QB with some great strengths, and some other weaknesses…. kinda like just about every other young QB in the NFL. It would be good for many folks to remember that…. but that doesn’t sell as well as hyperbole and drama.
I think that Tebow and the Broncos will have to win the SB to get any real true love...

true. Even though we beat a good defense in the Bears they'll want to see us beat a good defense and a good offense at the same time.
I expect that even if we beat the Patriots they would make excuses about their defense not being very good (even though they are only 14th in points allowed).

That butt chewing from Ditka must have really opened Hoge's eyes and made him realize that he doesn't know what he's talking about.
That said. Thank you for actually publicly apologizing Merrill, Other MSM still have yet to admit they were wrong (John Ritchie)
I love this team and I love how the players have responded to Tim’s leadership. I remember back in the beginning people were saying that Tim wasn’t any better of a leader than Kyle Orton. Well we’ve seen the truth of that. Players may have respected Kyle but they didn’t buy in to winning because Kyle himself didn’t buy in to winning like Tebow has.
I love that players have said that if feels like a high school or college atmosphere around Dove Valley because they are just having fun. There aren’t any clicks and players hang out together and love being around each other. This is a change (as Elway said) that has come from Tim and his leadership, passion and positive attitude. I love it and those intangibles can’t be undersold anymore. Tim’s intangibles have single-handedly made up for his lack of experience and won us several games that we had no business winning and if we keep it up you better believe that more NFL GMs will evaluating future prospects a little differently and putting a little higher value on those traits.
