Denver Broncos Waive Receiver/Returner Quan Crosby
The Denver Broncos today released return specialist Quan Cosby today according to Lindsay Jones from the Denver Post.
Quan Cosby was picked up early in the year to relieve Eric Decker and Eddie Royal of the return duties. Cosby averaged 26.9 yards per return on kickoffs and 10 yards per punt return.
Cosby was the full time guy every week since he joined the Broncos early in the year until he was incactive last week and eventually waived today. This came after a poor performance against the New England Patriots where he had trouble on a number of occasions catching punts and kickoffs resulting in near turnovers.

I think Cosby was a stop gap for Royal until he recovered for injuries. Now Eddie is fully healthy he and Willis will share the duty.

I really hope Willis doesn't return kicks...
IMO it really hurt our coverage teams. I didn’t see him playing gunner last week and I thought he was one of the reasons the coverage teams were so good until last week. I could be wrong but he seemed to be doing a great job after Cassius Vaughn got hurt on the coverage team.
Again just my opinion

He was actually fairly effective for us, as his return numbers show.
But his short stint as a Bronco will always be remember by the play pictured above.
..We're 8-8 till we're not!
They say the cool is all over me..
He had some great returns, it was jut the last game. He may be somewhat injured too, we don't know.

I don't have a problem with one bad game in a season.
But he made horrible decisions regarding when to field a kick and when to fair catch or just down the thing.

Pain is temporary. Pride is forever.
On and ever upward. Forward, never backward.
The past is over. The future is unwritten. All we can do is affect our own destiny, God willing, and roll with the punches and make the best of our situation. We all know what is right and what is wrong. So we should do what is right.

Who comes off the practice squad to fill an open roster spot ?
by broncosfaninphilly on Dec 27, 2011 3:00 PM MST via mobile reply actions
we’ve been under our roster limit for a few weeks now, I think. We haven’t had enough injuries to exhaust our inactive list, so it hasn’t been necessary. They might just keep the roster smaller.
How about Darren Sharper for a little help at safety?
He definitely knows Dennis Allen and his defense. Obviously there could be a lot of different reasons…but it sure seems like he could help with the young guys with Dawk hurting

NFL is a scary business. NFL = Not For Long
I guess that players who don’t perform can get cut even the last week of the season.
I understand why they waived him, but all of our returners have made questionable decisions about bringing the ball out of the endzone lately. Then it results in bad field position. Hopefully they get better this week.

I like it. Sends a message that stupid plays lead to the unemployment line. Our STs were brutal last week (and terrible vs NE) and we don’t want them losing another game for us this Sunday.
Tim Tebow is Denver's 2012 starting QB. I'm not even kind of sorry that offends some of you (including you Elway).

Well now,
I hope they make Royal the full time punt/kick returner. He really excels at this and is not doing much as a wide receiver.

+1
Royal needs to return to his roots and work his way back into the starting receiver lineup.

With Coach Zorro on our side, we will slice opponents to ribbons. Tim Tebow gives me hope and I already have faith and charity in my heart! I see a propitious future rife with Lombardis for our Broncos!

I would love to see this
It’s been all downhill after his rookie year. He is the only guy we have had making returns that has been consistent. Oh and he has taken a few to the house too. Use him where he excels the most.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Quan..
This guy made me cringe every time he returned a kick. He had a few good runs but he makes really bad decisions the other 90% of the time.
I'm so optimistic I'd go after Moby Dick in a row boat and take the tartar sauce with me.~Zig Ziglar
Made consistantly bad decisions/mistakes the past two weeks
He has talent but its useless when you make one horrendous decision after another.

Uh nobody goes to Moskow and eats their double goatburgers. People that have been only talk about the WOMEN. People go to Moskow and divorse their wives once they get a look at whats on the menu there. Mc Donalds, really?
