I knew it would happen and I knew that the people that would be whining the loudest were those that didn’t like Tebow from the start. You know, the blind, the ignorant, etc…
I knew (yes, I even bet on it) that T2 would win at least 6 games. I also knew that as soon as he did, people would shift expectations. In truth we were 1-4 and most people just wanted to see if we could win with Tim and see if it was worth spending an offseason on him as the starter next year. No one, including myself, ever thought we could be in contention for the playoffs. (Me, mostly because it also counted on 3 other teams to suck as we won). But they did and we kept on winning.
Now, because we have lost 2 games it has given the idiots…I mean haters….I mean the un-biased purely fact based…lol…sorry, I can’t finish that I’m too busy laughing…I mean haters, reasonable “facts” to jump back on the “we can’t win with Tebow” bandwagon. I will remind them, this was not about making the playoffs, or at least it shouldn’t have been.
T2 has played in, if you want to count last year, 14 games. And if you go back to last year you have to include the fact that he didn’t get an offseason (excuses Ortonites used as well) and is in a new offense (Another Ortonism). He didn’t get to practice with the 1st team until after the 5th game and if you want to be TRUTHFUL, the receivers have dropped so many passes (and I mean in the hands passes) that I started wondering why THAT stat isn’t kept.
Even with Orton as the starter NO ONE was thinking playoffs after 1-4. But we got what we needed, in my opinion, enough information to give T2 and the rest of the team a complete offseason to work together and to make some decisions in the draft. Making the playoffs will just be gravy.
