For Your Consideration: Britton Colquitt
As the 2012 Pro Bowl voting comes to a conclusion Mile High Report will be endorsing several Broncos players for your consideration:
As of the beginning of week thirteen the Denver Broncos had ended 58% of their offensive possessions with punts. A large part of the success of Tim Tebow has been the field position that Britton Colquitt has afforded the Broncos defense.
Colquitt is on track to add his name this season to a list that only includes six other punters in NFL history: averaging more than 47 yards and a 40 yard average per punt. The guy is a beast (as much as an NFL punter can be a beast) and consistently bails the offense out of three and outs averaging 50 yards per punt in most of his games.
They don't get much better than Colquitt now or ever.
So, what are you waiting for? Vote Colquitt to the the 2012 Pro Bowl before it is too late! Follow this link where all of your favorite Denver players are located at the top of the ballot for your ease in voting them into the game. Although if the Broncos make the Super Bowl it will all be all for nothing.
For Your Consideration will be a tri-weekly series leading up to the 2012 Pro Bowl voting finale on December 19th. Feel free to vote for your favorite players here and be sure to follow Mile High Report on Twitter and Facebook as well as me via The Orange Page.

whoever voted no should run off a cliff at full speed, no questions asked
I mean, how could you not nominate this guy?!? Give 1 legitimate argument, just one.
Q. Why doesn't St. Paul have a professional football team?
A. Because then Minneapolis would want one!
I voted yes
But I can see 1 or 2 fans voting no, arguing that missed snap ate 1y against the Raiders. That almost costed us a safety, but fortunately didn’t.
No-brainer here imo: COLQUITT TO THE PROBOWL!!!

Even though he did botch the snap, he made a smart play and managed to throw the ball away.
He didnt just take the tackle and lose more yards. Not fully making up for the mistake in the first place, but he tried.

Sure
I agree with you.
Just woundering why can a fan vote NO.

I haven't voted yet, but I can see why someone didn't vote for him.
Shane Lechler of the Raiders is averaging over 50yds per punt, I don’t know what the rest of his stats are, but that is damned impressive. I don’t think the AFC could go wrong having either guy on the team.

Lechler has a big leg, but he out-kicks his coverage a lot..
Lechler averages 3 more yards per punt, but Colquitt has had 19 fair catch calls to Lechler’s 6. Also, teams only average 9 yards per return on Colquitt, but they average over 13 yards per return on Lechler. Lechler might have a bigger leg (maybe) but Colquitt is more accurate and gives his gunners a better chance to pin back or tackle the returner.
I’ll take Colquitt :)

Yes, the Net average will tell the tale on that.
and is probably the best stat to guage a punters value. After that I would say Inside the 20 and Fair Catches.

Colquitt is the best
In my opinion, he is arguably the team’s MVP. He is consistently great. His punt a few weeks ago that landed on the 1 yard line and bounced straight up in the air where it was downed by a Bronco was the best punt I’ve ever seen. The dude is killing it. He has a great job.

I've had the chance to watch Britton
at Training Camp the past few years and have witnessed his improvements first hand. The family pedigree really shows.

5 players in the family are punters. 4 former pro, 2 current pro, one in college.
FIVE. Pfff… who are the Mannings?

He should, but Lechler will go.
As good as Britton has been, Lechler will likely end up going, and frankly, even though I hate the Raiders, he probably deserves it.
