Janoris Jenkins.... Every single year there is a prospect who falls due to character concerns and if a bad team picks that player they are ridiculed and people go nuts because of the players past, however in exactly the same situation we see a player like that being picked by a media hyped "strong locker room" like Baltimore or the Patriots and the pick is said to be "excellent value", talking heads are so full of praise.
This year if we are picking around 25 say, and Baltimore are picking around the same 26 or 27. If they pick Janoris Jenkins people will praise the pick saying the kid has top 5 talent, superb job by Ozzie Newsome yet again. By the same token we all see just how strong our locker room has become since the turnaround, how together the team seems and how effusive everybody has been in their praise of John Fox. This all got me thinking, knowing our no.1 need is a new corner, knowing Jenkins' reported shut down cover corner potential and knowing his Gator connections on our team and our new found strong locker room, would this be seen as a good pick?
More importantly, how would you all feel about getting a top 5 or 10 talent at a major position of need at this point in the draft, knowing his past behaviour.
Janoris Jenkins at 25? what do you think?
