Tim Tebow, but not the way you think. - Mile High Report
OK, I get it. Not everyone is on the Tebow Train. I guess that's why he's called such a polarizing figure -- people love him or hate him, and they do both with gusto. So many people, from analysts and former players to celebrities like Bill Cosby, have such strong opinions towards Tebow, that it's hard to imagine the drama that surrounds him will ever subside.

The Curious Case of Timothy Richard Tebow - Mile High Report

I'm liking the hubris I'm hearing from Chicago

They were able to manage three lousy points against KC and they’re acting like this one is in the bag. “Yeah that Tebow guy is ok but he’s no Cam Newton or Michael Vick.” (paraphrased of course}

As the ancient Tibetan Philosophy states "Don't start none, won't be none!"

Tebow wins in the NFL Cam doesn’t.

sorry

but if you think Cam isn’t gonna win in the near future in the NFL you are highly delusional

I doubt him more than I doubt Dalton or Tebow.

He took a 2-14 team to a 4-8 team. Dalton took a 4-12 team to 7-5. Tebow took a 4-12 team to 7-5…

by Tim Lynch on Dec 9, 2011 8:22 AM MST up reply actions

actually

Tebow took a 5-16 team to 6-1 :)

by vvps on Dec 9, 2011 9:08 AM MST up reply actions   1 recs

comparing the two at this point I take Tebow every time

Sure Cam makes some pretty throws and runs well but there are aspects of his game that are not up to par with Tebow.

He has more turnovers which leads to more losses. Until he can manage a game better he will not win. His team is not good enough and won’t be for years to allow him the luxury of being reckless.

It might sound hypocritical but I don’t think he is durable enough to be a running QB.

I could be wrong he could end up being great but I just don’t see it, especially once Steve Smith retires.

by trumanj on Dec 9, 2011 8:33 AM MST up reply actions

Headcase

Cam is a head case and certainly no leader. I’m sure the “I’m just trying to get guys to play at my own level” will go over real well in the locker room.

I love what Percy harvin said to him after the game, “let em keep hatin you”. I’ve skimmed over some posts and comments about if tebow works out harder than he throws and question of he’s focused enough on the qb position. To tell you the truth Im not really sure maybe 2 years ago they were equally worked on but even if he works out to the same level of his physical work at the qb position I’m not worried because the only thing Tim Tebow does is work. He puts in so many hours that he out works or works as hard as any qb does at the position and his strength and conditioning is as intense as any player period.

I am indifferent on his faith, I believe he is about the most true person I’ve ever witnessed and is an outstanding human being and probably the best role model in sports. I don’t per say agree with some of his thoughts but I couldn’t give a sh*t, he has the right to believe and pray and say what ever he wants this is still America right or have those rights been stripped as well. Tims relation through faith pushes him harder than anything and he will never stop because of that, this drive will never stop in tebow and it’s sad people on the outside live in negativity with Tebow. He’s special and I have never been so excited to be a bronco fan, he’s gonna be great, watch.

I have to say I am worried....

the bears defense does have a lot of reps at stopping scrambling quarterbacks. They also play a mean cover 2. It could be a tough game for Tebow.

by Keyworthpunch on Dec 9, 2011 9:04 AM MST reply actions

Their safeties have been a mess this year and Major Wright who has been starting for them is probably questionable at least. Tebow tore apart the Vikes cover 2 but the whole MSM thinks now all cover 2 teams know how to prevent what Tebow does. Tebow takes what he is given it is retarded to think that he beat a cover 2 once and now defenses know how to defend him. Tebow finds ways, running, throwing doesnt matter gets it done.

"Cam Newton is a better athlete, he's faster"

Reminds me of this recent column that sort of said the same thing, but with more wit:

[Tebow] runs, but he doesn’t run gracefully… He runs like he’s stealing a toaster from the mall.

But you know what? He ‘just wins, baby.’ That, and he really is improving in front of our eyes; and so is the whole team. Wow, how long have we waited to say that? I’m more than a little bummed the game won’t be broadcast here. I do have RedZone; perhaps we’ll score so much that it will be the only game on.

Oh, and the ‘stealing a toaster’ line isn’t the end, of course. More like:

Tim Tebow never, ever makes everybody happy. He can’t really do anything besides win football games.
Sounds good to me!

Bears plan to be more aggressive with Hanie?

That has to be the best news of the week to the Broncos. Miller and Dumervil must be licking their chops over that one.

Oh yes, reading that quote repeated by MakeCents: “He [Tebow] runs like he’s stealing a toaster from the mall.” The difference is, the toaster would be Tebow’s because nobody could catch him. lol

by AZDynamics on Dec 9, 2011 10:54 AM MST reply actions

I think he is giving misinformation.

He knows Haney sucks, so he is talking about being aggressive….watch Marion Barber get 35 carries Sunday.

by Tim Lynch on Dec 9, 2011 1:31 PM MST up reply actions

Haha

First off the Eagles have lost this year because of miscues. Penalties and red-zon turnovers have killed them, so many give aways its ridiculous. Vick has turned it over the most, Tebow has 1 pick and 2 fumbles lost in 7 games this year. Phillys D has been dreadful too, this isnt all Defenses figuring Vick but not being a complimentary football team. Tebow fits Fox-ball so well, conservative, protect the ball, wear down defenses and occasional big PA plays.

This Broncos team is defining team right now how they work all three units together. No turnover, great field position for D because Colquitt, solid-aggressive D, Tebow scores when needed and makes sure the score is in our favor.

Just weakens the bears secondary even more. Time for Tebow to throw the ball deep. let’s see if we can get 300 yards passing this week and most importanly WIN!! Go Broncos!!!!

That "No Huddle" segment is...

Kind of aggravating…I like Faulk but him being so condescending toward Tebow and Micahel Irvin with that laugh got my goad!! What an A$$!

BUT..I LOVE Michael’s response as it ends (heated too) “You guys are saying w some changes (that they earlier said in the segment Tebow is not capable of making…wth…HOW do you know Faulk) there will be results…I’m saying WE’RE GETTING RESULTS SO WHY CHANGE IT!”

If you have not watched the No Huddle video you should…Irvin makes some great counterpoints and his support is refreshing…I’ll just warn you that the other three look like idiots in it!

I know I've posted this before, but

40-yard dash:
Tebow: 4.71
Cam: 4.59

Oh wow Lance is right. Then again…

10-yard splits:
Tebow: 1.55
Cam: 1.59

3-cone drill:
Tebow: 6.66 (A good time for a cornerback)
Cam: 6.92

I’ll take 10-yard and 3-cone times over 40-yard times in an actual football game.

Remember when the long release

that was supposed to lead to massive turnovers was Tebow’s issue? So he listens to the idiots and loses some accuracy in the mean time, and now the idiots who complained about the long delivery and never mentioned his accuracy have now moved onto accuracy and act as if it can never improve. Ridiculous.
They would have nothing to focus on had he just gone the Joe Montana suggested route and not bothered to try to change it.
Anyway, he will only be getting better, which is quite a thought.

And knoxknoxjoke comes here with his trip cents after watching maybe two broncos games and acts as if he is dealing in information that this site hasn’t discussed hundreds of times by game three this year. Maybe we should all visit the bear’s site and tell them what they don’t already know about cutler, and we’ll use information from three years ago.

Yeah, rambling, big deal…go broncos.
