2011 Denver Broncos Team Needs

I think that everyone would agree that Josh McDaniels did a horrible job in the draft the last 2 years ie: Alfonso Smith , Richard Quinn and drafting 5 Offensive Players with our 1st 5 picks last year.  Denver is in dire need of some talent and with a impending lockout looming it is looking like Denver is going to have to address these needs in the draft.   I don't think that teams are going to be able to trade any players before the draft and teams are going to have to be very smart in the draft.

Denver currently has a 1st Round , 2-2nd Round Picks , 3rd Round , 6th and 7th Round Picks = 6 Total Picks

Denver has alot more needs than 6 picks!!!

More after the jump!!!!

Team Needs Defense , Defense , Defense - Josh McDaniels destroyed the Broncos last year by using their 1st 5 Picks on Offense - Demaryius Thomas , Tim Tebow , Zane Beadles , JD Walton and Eric Decker.

1.        Safety Position - to me this is a glaring need.  Brian Dawkins is 37 years old and might retire , Renaldo Hill is one of the worst Safeties in the NFL , Darcel McBath hasn't stayed healthy and David Bruton is a special teamer only.

2.         Defensive Line -  Elvis Dumervil is the only Elite Player we have on the Dline.  The rest of the players are average to below average - Justin Bannan , Kevin Vickerson , Marcus Thomas , Ryan McBean, Robert Ayers. Denver could really use some talent on the Dline.

3.         Right Tackle/Guard - I hate to rate this position so high but I think that with Elway saying they probably won't resign Ryan Harris that Right Tackle is a huge need.  Zane Beadles might be switched back to RT and then we would need a Guard.  But the Oline can't be ignored , we all know that football is won up front.

4.        TE -   Daniel Graham might get cut this offseason and we only have Richard Quinn and Gronkowski left.

I do think that Denver can get by with DJ Williams , Mario Haggan , Joe Mays and Weslye Woodyard for another year and really try to improve the Dline and Safety Position.

I think that The Broncos are going to have to trade down with one of their top 3 picks.  The question is which one.  Hopefully Cam Newton continues to have a great offseason and there are some experts who think that Buffalo is in play for him already.

A very possible trade down scenario is - Denver trades it's 2nd Round Pick(#36) to say the the 47th Pick and it could pick up a 4th , 5th and 7th Round PIck by doing so , then Denver would be loaded with 9 Draft Picks.
