My Top Ten Scouting Combine Questions
First - I acknowledge many of you won't have the same questions
Second - I know the Combine is a very small piece of the evaluation pie. These questions will not all be answered here.
1. Who is Robert Quinn?
2. Is Da'Quan Bowers athleticism equal to that of Julius Peppers?
3. How fast is Patrick Peterson?
4. Who is more athletic, Nick Fairley or Marcel Dareus?
5. Which first round talent falls to us in the second? Stephen Paea?
6. Is Kyle Rudolph's athleticism something that makes him impossible to resist in the second?
7. Will Mason Foster force us to draft him in the second?
8. Who will be our starting right tackle next year and could a good one be picked as late as the third or fourth?
9. Is there a defensive back, specifically a safety, in this weak class, that forces his way into our second round discussion?
10. Is there a mid to late round running back that catches our eye?
What are your top ten questions?

I like your questions, except I'm confused with #9
Is there a defensive back, in this weak class, that forces his way into our second round discussion?
Weak how? Are you including all DB’s or just S’s? Cuz this is a very deep DB class, although I would agree the S isn’t that strong
I agree on Quinn, he’s gotta answer some tough questions there and if he doesn’t do well he will see a Dez Bryant like drop
If you reply to a comment/post/fanshot of mine, I will more likely then not respond to it, unless you come off like a d-bag.
Ok good just making sure
I agree if its Safety then. I wouldn’t say its a totally weak class i.e.: OL, but it lacks an elite guy. I think though there is some great talent in the 2nd-3rd rounds, where we have 3 picks. I know its not the most popular pick, but I really hope we snag a Moore or Carter there
If you reply to a comment/post/fanshot of mine, I will more likely then not respond to it, unless you come off like a d-bag.
For your last question (our top 10)
Iwon’t give all ten, but I’m very curious to see the TE’s beyond Rudolph. I love Rudolph, but We may not get him as we need to draft other positions before TE, I want to see how big Kendricks is, how fast Luke Stocker is, and see if there’s a good 6th/7th rounder too.
If you reply to a comment/post/fanshot of mine, I will more likely then not respond to it, unless you come off like a d-bag.
There are a few TEs in the draft...
Stocker, DJ Williams, Virgil Green NV, Charlie Gannt MSt…Here is a take on Gannt from FFToolbox.
Where Gantt excels is in his blocking. Coaches can’t coach the tenacity and passion he brings to it.
Probably could be had in the 6th? Maybe…
Green out of Nevada is 6’5 240 and very nimble for his size…
Green is one of the more athletic tight ends in this class. He is relatively quick and surprisingly nimble. That helps in both pass catching and blocking and Green can do both relatively well.
Look into Charles Clay
he’s a FB/TE…….very productive, very solid players….tough blocker and extremely good receiver….
Broncos forever.....bring on the season.
good idea for a post
luckily im a bronco and a blazer fan
I don't have the answers to these questions
though I may be able to after this week is over. I DO have posts coming in each of the next 3 days on the Combine.

Nice post! #1 is probably my top question also
I want to know what motivates Nick Fairley, I want to know if he can be controlled and trusted to work hard at the next level.
Patrick Peterson
He said he wants to run a 4.2 at the combine – not sure if itll happen but i think he can do

Answers...
1. An absolute athletic stud!!!!
2. Not quite as athletic, but much more powerful, so it equals out!!!
3. 4.32 range, not 4.2 level he wants
4. Fairley is the better athlete, but Dareus is more athletic
5. Yes, plz plz plz yes
6. Yes we can resist him, because of fox, but wouldnt mind having him.
7. See #5
8. Nope
9. Yup, name Rahim Moore
10.Yea, theres a couple, fox’s m.o. is to grab a couple of rb’s in drafts

My answers
1. Quinn is a troubled but highly talented player who needs to be given a second chance (we all do).
2. Bowers will prove himself to be a poor man’s Peppers, which still makes him a monster of a player.
3. Same as above – 4.33 or so (which is phenomenal for a man of his size). If PP does indeed run in the low 4.30’s, Carolina will be hard pressed to pass on his services.
4. I will admit that Fairley is more gifted athletically, but Dareus has much more substance (intangibles, playing in a Saban led Defense > running off at the mouth about cold weather teams, being a punk at times).
5. Paea, Wilkerson, Pouncey, Jimmy Smith, Phil Taylor, JJ Watt – I hope and pray that one of these bad arses falls, and it’s likely that one or two of them will.
6. If I were Fox/Elway/Xanders, then yes, Rudolph is too good to pass on if he falls. I’m not any of those guys though.
7. I’m unsure of this one because I’m not super familiar with the player, but from what you guys say about him, I’d be thrilled with the decision to bring in Foster.
8. Possibly (Pinkston, Barksdale, Hairston, Brewer, Gilbert, Hall).
9. Yessiree, name: Roberto Sands
10. Again, it is possible. A second RB is coming from somewhere – draft or FA. Daniel Thomas, Quizz Rodgers, Todman, DeMarco Murray, Vereen, Locke, Devine, Delone Carter, Jamie Harper, etc., etc.

How fast
Will Von miller run his 40, 3 cone and shuttle?
How many reps will Marcell Dareus get?
Will Robert Quinn do the best overall?
I’m very excited for the combine!
Great questions. Means it's time to start studying!

Has anyone heard if Paea is going to participate?
I figured he would pass on the field skills, but thought he might have a chance to break the bench press record. Personally, I want this guy to fly under the radar as much as possible.
Whether it’s a 4.2 or a 4.3 for peterson, he’ll still be fast and smooth enough to cover most of the NFL WR’s
Last I heard, the only physical activity Paea was only going to participate in was the bench press.
With the #2 pick in the NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select the BPAOD.

Great stuff Swg
A couple of my questions:
How fast are Mason Foster, Greg Jones, and Kelvin Sheppard?
How fast are DJ Williams, Luke Stocker, and Cam Jordan?
How athletic is Patrick Peterson compared to Bowers and Fairley?
How does Dareus match up against other DT’s in the drills?
Which safetie performs the best: Carter, Moore, or Jarrett?

"They said I couldn't be a high school quarterback, they said I couldn't get a D1 scholarship. You're not good enough, you're not skilled enough. They said I couldn't win a heisman. They said I couldn't win a national championship. They said I wouldn't be a first round draft pick. They said I couldn't play in the league. Appreciate that." - Tim Tebow.
We shall see if they can improve their numbers at the Combine
but here are the Times they have recorded.
Mason Foster, 4.73
Greg Jones, 4.64
Kelvin Sheppard, 4.64
DJ Williams, 4.59
Luke Stocker, 4.78
Cam Jordan, 4.85

My top ten (nice post by the way)
1. Who will come out of the combine as our clear cut leader of the big board – Dareus, Bowers, Fairley, Peterson, Miller?
2. (Like yours) What 1st round talent, if any, will be too good to pass up for our Broncos in the 2nd?
3. Will Robert Sands improve his draft stock, and if so, will he be available in the 2nd?
4. What offensive players, if any, is Denver targeting (example – Rudolph, Cannon, Locke, Leshoure)?
5. Who will be the most intriguing Safety prospect after the combine?
6. Which WVU Mountaineers will show Denver the most worth (Sands, JT Thomas, Chris Neild, Jock Sanders, Devine, Brandon Hogan)?
7. Retired for John Elway!!!!
8. Which single player will improve their draft stock the most from the combine?
9. Which Defensive Lineman will improve their stock the most?
10. What prospect will intrigue Denver in the middle rounds for RT?

Good stuff...
I would comment more but I have to go to work. So, I’m guessing you are a WVU fan? Hahaha. I will be watching Sands with eagle eyes to see if he is everything you describe. I have never watched him play.
Thanks swg
Sands didn’t always have the flashy stats like Sash, but he was the linchpin for my Mountaineer D, which was an elite college defense. The things that only Robert Sands could do at 6-5, 220 lbs., made it possible for other players like Bruce Irvin. Robert Sands is a ferocious hitter ~ he has a really good burst / closing speed ~ he has soft hands for such a big man ~ his leaping ability is unmatched and very rarely did QB’s try to sneak one in over the top on him (this will help immensely with Gates, Jackson, Floyd and Co.) ~ he’s a wonderful teammate / person ~ and he has huge heart!!!
I believe it would be a dire mistake to miss out on Sands because of his hip swivel / backpedal. Let this dude sit behind B Dawk for a year, and we have ourselves a true freak (besides Clady, Tebow, and Doom).

Tape >>>>>>>>>>> Combine workouts
I think a lot of good teams only really care about the interviews. As much as I like the combine, I think a lot of it is worthless….like o-line and d—line 40 times.
Agreed, for the most part.
Refer to the top of my post : “I know the Combine is a very small piece of the evaluation pie”
much like the Senior Bowl / Shrine Game
Tebow, although he had a killer combine, is a prime example. He ran a 4.70 forty, but with the pads on he’s much faster (as evidenced in his first start). Some players just aren’t track stars and they struggle with the 40 stance. It all comes down to if a player can ball or not.
