Ok so as the title indicates this is my first mock draft. Now before I get into this I'm going to warn you, I know little about college football and watch even less. This draft is purely based off of what I have read in other drafts and other websites. On top of this I'm only going to go into the third round as everything after that is really a crap shoot. One last note, I'm assuming Denver makes a transition to a 4-3, If Denver stays in a 3-4 this mock kinda goes out the window. And finally I know this won't make everyone happy, but hey let's face it, what mock does?
1st Pick #2 Marcell Dareus (DT)
Will be a starter and impact player on the line from day 1
2nd Pick #36 Stephen Paea (DT)
Won't start right away but will make the rotation and be an impact. Could start by the end of the season
3rd Pick #46 Quinton Carter (FS)/ Robert Sands (FS)
We desperately need a big time saftey in the backfield and either of these guys should be able to provide that kind of help
4th Pick #66 Mason Foster (ILB)
Much like the rest of the defense, the linebacker corps needs an upgrade. Foster was a fiery leader for Washington and I believe he could play ILB for us in the 4-3
5th Pick #68 Casey Matthews (OLB)
DJ will probably transition back to an OLB in the 4-3 but that still leaves a question mark on the otherside. Casey may be a little small but he fast and has a knack for making big plays, like his force fumble near the end of the Title game.
So there you have it. Rip it to shreds or make a shrine out of it, I don't care. Just give us your thoughts and let's see where that takes us.
