Portis Released
Anybody notice that Clinton Portis was released by the Redskins. Was just thinking, he's only 29, granted oft injured, but since we can't seem to keep enough backs to get through half a season, what about taking a flyer on picking up a waning star to finish up his career where it began. LT had a pretty good year and a lot of people thought he was done. CP's not going to get the money on his Redskin contract from anyone, so might get him at a reasonable price, if there is such a thing. Any love left in Denver for Clinton? Wouldn't be interesting to see both ends of that trade end up with the Broncos.

Now that he has matured emotionally, his body has broken down
Reminds me of an old Jack London short story about a fighter (boxer) nearing the end of his career. (Title had something about a piece of steak in it…been many years.) I probably would pass unless he wanted to come in with no guarantees and compete…which I doubt he would do.
He's done

Depends on price
Portis, when healthy, I think can still be an effective back given limited touches. For the right price, he’s worth a flyer, but also totally depends on what else is available and what price he’s asking. He’s probably a better option than C-Buck at this point.
There are definitely worse options out there…. but there may be better ones too.
