My Broncos Starting Offense
Here's what I think the Broncos starting offense should be:
QB: Tim Tebow
RB: Knowshon Moreno (I'm all for the Broncos signing DeAngelo Williams to split time with Slowshon)
FB: Spencer Larsen
WR: Brandon Lloyd, Demaryius Thomas, with Eddie Royal at slot recevier (Jabar Gaffney has to go IMO). Eric Decker seems like a nice recevier too. Kind of reminds me of McCaffrey.
TE: Well.... We have the least of the Gronkowski's in Dan Gronkowsi... we have a clueless Richard Quinn... and I have no idea who Daniel Coats is... We really need to sign a Tight End. Bo Scaife might be a possibility
LT: Ryan Clady (duh)
LG: Zane Beadles
C: J.D. Walton
RG: Chris Kuper
RT: Ryan Harris
For me, our biggest need on offense right now is Tight End. Everywhere else, we have serviceable players at the very least.

Gaffney?
Not understanding why Gaffney has to go. He’s one of our most consistent players. Other possibilities seem logical.
agreed, but...
if our younger WR’s were completely healthy, then I feel like Gaffney could be expendable. I have a feeling that Demaryius and Royal could replace his production. Since they’re not healthy, then I feel like you, Gaff is essential to our passing attack.

what would’ve been Tebow’s first TD pass

I have high hopes for Willis and Eron Riley.

Thomas is .....
Thomas is finished…. yes yes… he’ll come back from surgery…
But lucky if he’s back at 85% of what he was/or could have been…
So looking for a WR is now a priority for the Broncos…either thru FA or the Draft

I disagree.
And McManJoe, don’t forget about Britt Davis, either.

are you...
are you saying he’ll come back 100%? or just as good?
If you do…. you kidding yourself…..
Injuries like this have curtailed careers in rugby and aussie rules footballers….
The number one thing that they lose is their speed and burst….
so as a WR…. speed and burst is a key element…yes???
I heard the ‘thud’ downunder from Fox & Elways jaw dropping when they heard the news…of his injury…

It has been suggested...
That he might make a pretty good TE if he loses some of his speed. He might need to bulk up a bit but he is already a big receiver.
Also, do you have inside info on the severity of the tear? If so, please let us know. I haven’t seen any.
One more thing, it is possible to come back from this kind of injury. Stokely did it quite nicely.

I disagree with your notion that he's finished.
Speed and burst is, indeed, important but it’s not the end all be all of a wide receiver’s game. Jerry Rice is a prime example of that. He wasn’t fast or quick, but he was a technician when it came to running routes. Will he be the same guy as he was before? No. But that doesn’t mean he won’t be successful, it will just take a bit for him to get his legs back underneath him. Just like any injury, it’s just as much mental as it is physical. DT will be alright. He’ll get past it and be just fine.
We live in exciting times, medically, so I’m not deathly concerned about DT’s injury. From a few of his tweets online, his rehab is going well. It’s rough because it’s rehab, but it’s progressing, nonetheless.

If...
If I offered u Pick 23 for him now…would u take it?
or would u take the gamble that he’ll come back?

I'd take the pick, for sure.
Only because I consider the Broncos to be fairly deep at receiver (Royal, Lloyd, Gaffney, Willis, Decker, Davis, Riley) and thin on the defensive side of the ball. There is good defensive depth in this draft and we’d have a good shot at pulling a defensive starter at 23. But that’s not indicative of my lack of faith that Demaryius Thomas can heal. There’s no correlation, but it’s fun to play the hypothetical game, at times. Am I right?

DT over Gaff?
Why, while I doubt he’s finished or a bust, he’s hardly been great, plus the fact he’s coming off another injury this seems strange. Also there’s the fact Moreno and Williams have similar speeds, so what’s with that nickname? And concerning TE, I really doubt we sign a FA TE, mostly because there’s no evidence showing that Fox or McCoy would ever use a TE. I could see a late round pick, but no big name TE will be coming here.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.
what nickname??

Slowshon.

They DONT have similar speeds...
Look at the combine numbers for both players. Slowshon ran in the 4.6’s. Which means he is a legitimate 4.7 since he spent likely a month and half preparing to run a 4.6. DeAngelo Williams ran a 4.49 at the combine. Big difference in the NFL.
Not Really
It’s a difference of 7 inches over 40 yds. KM ran in the 4.5s during his pro day.
I'v e heard the Slowshon
thing before. It’s not so much that he’s slow, it’s just you either want speed and power and since he doesn’t seem to have power I wish he had more speed.
If one cover CB is nice, two would surely be twice as nice.
Well.....
Orton will start, but other than that, it is not much doiffernt…….
Wha has to happen is that the D needs to change……
I do agree that I only really care about defensive changes
Our offense was acceptable last season, but it doesn’t matter what changes we make on offense unless we change our defense.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.
I'm with you man!
The Broncos have not had a great defense since the ’70’s. It would be nice again if the Broncos had a tough defense that just “hit people in the mouth” on a regular basis. Like Pittsburgh and Baltimore. That kind of defense. Just once!
I could have been a Rhodes Scholar, except for my grades.

Daniel Coats
Played at BYU. They Pass more than they run and all of their TE’s have always had pretty decent hands. Given the right coaching he could be a sleeper for us at TE.
kinda agree
except for every opinion you have on the players… Knowshon, jabar, quinn

fullback upgrade?
i like larsen but i think of him as more of a utility/jack of all trades guy. with more emphasis on running game (ie trying to have one) fullback’s got to be up there in offensive priority. maybe make a run at mcclain or take a late round flier?
i don’t get the thomas thing at all, but you’re right about TE. not pretty right now.
I'm not sugarcoating this.
better still....
let’s use some of the money we saved on cutting bannon & co….
On McClain from Baltimore…. he’s a FA… and wants more carries….
Ideal backfield…. M&M….. Moreno & McClain…..

that's what i'm talkin about
and i really mean that. he was the mcclain i was talking about taking a run at. i think the M&M thing would be a thing of beauty.
I'm not sugarcoating this.
agreed
Bring in La’Ron McClain. He is a beast and would bring back some toughness and respectability to the limp Denver Broncos Running game. He has played very little at Baltimore because of the presence of Rice and McGahee so he has a lot left in the tank. He’s a great blocker, hardnosed runner and he has good hands. I’m sure that he’d progressively steal carries away from Moreno and would be a force in the red zone. Obviously I’m all for this type of running back.
