I know what you are thinking, if you even clicked on this. No, I don't want to debate Tebow or Orton anymore either. Instead I want to talk about our number two position. Tebow starts, Orton traded, Quinn #2......... Orton starts, Tebow traded, Quinn #2........ Quinn at #3, I know the third string QB is the last thing most fans think about but after the jump, that is what I want to do.
With all the speculation going on over who will start and what we can get for Kyle Orton in a trade, I have begun to wonder. What is our back up situation? We have Brady Quinn at #3 on the depth chart but he actually came in as #2 in a trade for Peyton Hillis. At this point in time I was pretty happy with it as it meant we could be rid of Chris Simms with what I considered was an upgrade. Quinn was drafted by the Browns in 2007 and started his career with a hold-out. He signed a five year deal with the Browns and I am not sure if we then have him for one more year or what? Kaptain, would you know this?
I don't think he has lived up to his potential but he has had worse luck or circumstance than Kyle Orton has in his career. In the 10 games he played in 09, Quinn did well in my opinion. I think he will be a quality back up in the NFL. Now to my point. What has Brady Quinn been doing? Why isn't anyone asking him or the coaches about the possibility of him running the second team this upcoming season? I am curious if he is in shape. How well did he understand the previous playbook and is he expected to be able to transition well over to the new one?
Brady showed he can run a football team in the Browns and did better than Anderson in my opinion. But one year is not enough to build solid knowledge and now he has had another season with no work (snaps) and a new system to boot. Where are you Brady Quinn? What have you been up too? Are you ready, willing, and able to fight for the starting job on the Denver Broncos Football Team?
Just for fun let's have a poll
