New mock after recent signings

New Mock draft after all the recent signings and the CBA extension

Cuts

Daniel Graham

Jamaal Williams

Justin Bannan

Renaldo Hill

Ryan Harris- we tendered him but after the new CBA is signed  he is just a FA.

Free Agents/ Resignings

 Roman-harper-2008-nfl-oakland-raiders-at-new-orleans-saints-3-34-october-12-2008-lp1xal_medium

Roman Harper- Coach Allen briongs in a former player who will instantly upgrade our backfield. OJ and Bob Sanders are no longer availible and Eric Weddle doesn't want to come to Denver.

 Robert-gallery-1024x754_medium

Robert Gallery- The broncos replace Ryan Harris big presence with a nasty lineman whos presence will create a very solid line for the broncos. **Gallery will play LG which will put Beadles at RT. Beadles when playing at RT was solid last year and will play the position better than any other rookie from the draft. He was a second round pick at tackle.

Draft

Kyle Orton and a 2012 4th round pick traded to Arizon for their 38th pick

Jabar Gaffney is traded to Washington for their Round 7 pick. We essentially give him away to Washington because theyll pick up his contract. D Thomas may be injured for the first half of the season but we dont need to keep Gaffney when his production can be easily made up by Eric Decker and Matthew Willis.

1st Round pick 2

 44459_alabama_dareus_football_medium

DT Marcel Dareus- This is the player that Elway and Xanders want to put there stamp on. He is going to be the center piece of the New Orange Crush defense.

2nd Round Pick 4

 Paea_medium

DT Stephen Paea- There is a lot of needs on the team but we got two picks left in this round and with the talent availible its too hard to pass up on Paea

2nd Round Pick 6

 Rahim_moore_medium

FS- Rahim Moore He'll be here for a long time and have 3 great players to look up to and learn from in Dawkins, Champ, and Roman

2nd Round Pick 14

 276091031003_washington_state_v_notre_dame_medium

TE- Kyle Rudolph- This guys too good to pass up He is the most athletic tight end availible and hes a great blocker and pass catcher. This guy is going to be a future star in the NFl. We need this guy to complete our offense.

Round 3 Pick 3

Rd 3 Pick and a 2013 4th round pick traded to Jacksonville for their 16th pick this round as well as their 17th pick in the 4th round.

Round 3 Pick 16

OLB Dontay Moch- This guy is a freak athlete and will flourish under Coach Fox.

Round 4 Pick 17

ILB Casey Matthews- His brothers awesome and hes not too bad either. We need some added depth at linebacker and he will be a good addition.

Round 7 Pick 2

RB/ return specialist Noel Devine- We get a speedster to provide us with a solid returner as well as an explosive back to compliment knowshonn.

Round 7 pick 11

QB Taylor Potts- Depth

New Roster

QB Tim Tebow, Brady Quinn, Taylor Potts

RB Knowshonn Moreno, Noel Devine, Lance Ball

FB Spencer Larsen, Lendale White

TE's Kyle Rudolph, Robert Quinn, Dan Gronkowski

WRS Brandon Lloyd, Demaryius Thomas, Eddie Royal, Eric Decker, Matthew WIllis

O LINE Ryan Clady, Robert Gallery, JD Walton, Chris Kuper, Zane Beadles

LE Elvis Dumervil, David Veikune

RE Robert Ayers, Jason Hunter

DT MArcel Dareus, Stephen Paea, Kevin Vickerson, Marcus Thomas

OLB DJ Williams, Dontay Moch, Wesley Woodyard

by kimbertr on Mar 4, 2011 8:45 AM MST reply actions

Hes projected as a 5 or 6

I know abunch of us fans see him going earlier than that but i havent heard of any teams that are that high up on him

Hate the trade of ORTON(no surprise)

Don’t like the trade of Orton and Gaffney(when Demaryius got injured – not likely).

I like Marcell Dareus and Stephen Paea and Rahim Moore.

Robert Gallery is a Guard not RT.

Overall not bad but not good.

by Broncosfansd on Mar 4, 2011 9:09 AM MST reply actions

Yea i messed up i was pretty tired when i did it i dunno how to edit it though. the line should be
Ryan Clady, Robert Gallery, Jd Walton, Chris Kuper, Zane Beadles.
Although Demaryius got injured were pretty deep at reciever dude and in all reality jabar gaffny isnt that great he made good catches last season but hes not getting any better. His production can be easily replaced by willis and decker.

by Orange Kush on Mar 4, 2011 9:20 AM MST up reply actions

I hear you but inflated stats arent anything to go run home about. Kyle Orton had great stats and a bad year too. Gaffney is a solid possesion reciever and nothing else. We have his replacement in Eric Decker. Decker is bigger faster and can catch just as well. And Willis has big play potential. Its not for trade value either its to get rid of his contract so we can make room for all the other signings. I could see us keeping him though but he wont provide us with anything that we cant replace

Like the Orton trade Gaffney needs to be here as DT is hurt, but Gallery is not a tackle

Great Mock and would love this. Only change if it were me would be Leshoure or Cannon/Best avialable tackle even at RB over Rudolph, but would absolutley go nuts if we get Dareus (or Failrey) and Paea! Awesome.

Weve been scouting Rudolph all year the FO likes him, hes going to be an all start and we need one of those. and i messed up the line order see above but we saw beadles play tackle last year and he didnt do bad he was a 2nd rounder and will do better this season at tackle than any rookie we get.

by Orange Kush on Mar 4, 2011 9:22 AM MST up reply actions

I would love to get Rudolph in the 2nd round!

Unfortunately I think that he may be a late 1st round pick.

I don't think Denver will draft him.

He has had 2 Serious Injuries in College and had hamstring surgery. I don’t think that Denver is in a position to take a chance on a player with a history of injury concerns.

I would rather trade down and draft Luke Stocker – TE – Tennessee.

by Broncosfansd on Mar 4, 2011 9:34 AM MST reply actions

The other DJ williams would be good too, i just thought Rudolph was best value pick and also didnt know of his injury history.

Agreee BFSD. And in the second the value for Deffensive players is awesome.

Carolina has FA TEs that Fox drafted and used very consistently ever since

They’re young and affordable and Carolina just signed Jeremy Shockey. Don’t you think it’s more likely we make a play for one of them than for us to go after everyone’s man crush Rudolph? Neither Fox nor McCoy use high profile/receiving TEs and Fox has never drafted a TE so highly, only once prior to the 5th round in fact.

Do you remember what happened last year when Dumervil went down? Our pass rush was MIA. You feel comfortable with the guys behind him this year? That depth is awful. We’re never going to draft your favorite TE, why not take a DE there so that we can have a little depth and rotation?
Gaffney needs to stay. His salary is tolerable now that D Thomas has such a major injury. I like your additions at DT, but you sign any FA linebackers or draft any that are remotely capable of starting right away. We need improvement at LB as badly as DL. You’ve got Haggan starting at MIke. He weighs like 270lbs and Fox hasn’t started a Mike that weighs over 237lbs since ‘05. We’re not talking a little difference here, that’s night and day. Haggan is a DE if he’s kept. Mays is borderline, but slow for this system. Mathews is a project and so is Moch. This LB core would be scare me badly. We also need a RB from somewhere (not inluding the one in the 7th).

"The nice thing when you’re the second pick is that you’re going to get a player of that worthiness as well as a player of need." John Fox said suck it, Patrick Peterson lovers;-)!!

Beadles when playing at RT was solid last year

Beadles was not good at RT at all last year. He could not block anybody without help from the TEs. His natural position is on the left side so moving him to the right doesn’t help us. Why not keep him at LG where he could easily be as good as Gallery? It seems like the Gallery pick up is more of a big name pick up rather than a pick up that makes us better.

I like the draft and love Kyle Rudolph but I don’t think Fox will be targeting a Pass catching TE in this draft. History shows that he doesn’t really use them. If we do draft a TE I can see us going after a Lee Smith type in the later rounds.

Still, any draft that has Dareus Paea at 1,2 is solid in my book.

U should footie of that

I know he wasnt great at RT but for a rookie he was solid… I saw him get beat like everyone else on the line but it wasn’t a ton or constant.. Id like to see what your talking about cuz i watched every game and i dont know what your talking about

by Orange Kush on Mar 4, 2011 10:19 AM MST up reply actions

does that mean get footage? I have no idea what footie is, sorry.

Unfortunately individual offensive line statistics don’t seem to be posted anywhere and good luck trying to find video of bad things. It seems highlights are the only videos that anyone wants to watch or post and even then it doesn’t look like there have been any videos made of offensive line play for the Broncos this year. If you can find any though maybe it would prove your theory that he played well. I imagine most of the highlights would come from him playing LG.

So we’ll just have to disagree on this. I think he is not a solid RT. His arms are short and his natural position is on the left where he excelled once he got put there full time. Our run game was horrible with him on the right and didn’t start improving until Harris got back in the line up and Beadles moved back to LG. And from the games I saw he had a lot of TE help on his side while playing RT because he couldn’t handle the duties of pass blocking by himself.

I also don't like the Devine pick.

I know small backs are popular for some reason but I don’t get it. This guy is tiny. I don’t care what he did in college I don’t want to spend a pick on this guy even if he does return kicks only. I’d rather have Vaughn returning kicks and use this pick on a FB or blocking TE.

Honestly though guys

Not calling anyone out but whats the deal with some of you dicks being so critical. If you guys want to correct evey detail of a mock into how you would do it just make your own mock ya know

by Orange Kush on Mar 4, 2011 10:21 AM MST reply actions

Yea i guess your right it would be hard to find footage but he wasnt bad at RT the few games he did play it he was getin props for playin pretty well i remember. No problems with opinions or critiscism just a problem with the idea behind comments disagreeing with nearly all picks. Know what im saying, no reason to use a comment to post your mock draft jus make a fan post.

by Orange Kush on Mar 4, 2011 10:41 AM MST up reply actions

In Fox's tenure at Carolina how many times did he use a TE in passing plays other than to block?

We don’t know how Richard Quinn (developing) and Gronkowski will be with another year and new HC…I’m still wondering where Riar Greer went? He was a big, physical blocker and I really thought he would fit in McD’s scheme…Barrone, the TE coach is still here as well as McCoy so the playbook might not change too much in transition…

by bfree2bronc on Mar 4, 2011 3:43 PM MST reply actions

Richard Quinn is Carolina's Gary Barnidge

Gary Barnidge:
Year Team G GS Rec…… Yds
2010 CAR 16 3 0 ……… 0
2009 CAR 16 3 12 …… 242
2008 CAR 15 0 0 …….. 0

As you can see, Barnidge has consistently played in all but one game since he was drafted but is used as a 6th lineman, not a receiver. The two men are within an inch and within 8 pounds of eachother. Richard Quinn will be a great fit in this system, even if he remains quiet.

Jeff King was the starting TE in Carolina over the past four years. He’s very, very comparable in size and in stats to that of Graham. King is a FA and the Panthers just sined Shockey. I think King will be a cheap replacement to Graham and I’m convinced he’ll be a Bronco.
