Blaine Gabbert with the #2

Before everyone blows a gasket , this could be possible.  Once again I do not think that John Elway is sold on either Kyle Orton or Tim Tebow.  I think that he is going to keep all the options on the board.  It was reported that Elway/Fox are going to Auburn's ProDay to look at Cam Newton and Nick Fairley.

So here is goes

1st Round Pick -------------------------------------------------------------   Blaine Gabbert - QB - Missouri - 6'4" 234lbs -  The Broncos draft Gabbert who is very accurate and is more of a passer than runner.

TRADE -------------------------------------------------------------------------  Denver trades Kyle Orton to The Minnesota Vikings for their 2nd Round Pick

2nd Round Pick ------------------------------------------------------------   Phil Taylor - DT - Baylor - 6'4" 334lbs - Taylor is the big DT that Fox likes.

2nd Round Pick(#43 via Vikings)-------------------------------------    Trade down - Denver trades its pick to Philly for their 2nd , 4th , 5th Round Pick

2nd Round Pick(#46)-----------------------------------------------------    Marvin Austin - DT - UNC - 6'3" 309lbs - Denver goes back to back DT's and should be set there for the next 4-5 years.

2nd Round Pick(#54)-----------------------------------------------------     Mason Foster - LB - Washington - 6'2" 245lbs - Foster had 166 tackles and 7 Sacks in 2010 and would be a great addition to the LB core.

3rd Round Pick ------------------------------------------------------------     Kelvin Sheppard - ILB - LSU - 6'2" 240lbs - Denver gets this excellent ILB.

4th Round Pick ------------------------------------------------------------     Chris Culliver - Safety - South Carolina - 6'0" 199lbs - Culliver is a excellent player who will be a steal in the 4th Round.

Final Thoughts

1.      Denver traded 5-6 times in the 2010 NFL Draft - so trading down in the 2nd is possible.

2.      I think that drafting Blaine Gabbert would be a upgrade over Kyle Orton. Orton is very solid but Gabbert is younger and has more upside.

3.      Denver could still come out of the draft with Phil Taylor , Marvin Austin , Mason Foster , Kelvin Sheppard , Chris Culliver on Defense.

4.      Tim Tebow would be the starting QB for the 2011 Season and would then have to compete with Gabbert.
