Conrad's Mid-April draft with comments.

I would prefer for the CBA would get done, so we could trade some players for picks and get some free agency done, but I don't expect anything before the draft.

I would also like the Broncos to move down to about 5 and get at least another 2nd and 3rd or 4th and maybe a 2012 3rd. I'm not mocking this trade, however.

Here we go....

1st round:

#2 Marcel Dareus - DT, Alabama -- Not much to say. It's great when need and value come together.

2nd round:
#36 Marvin Austin - DT, North Caroline -- If Fox wants his DT's like he did in Carolina, they should be big and physically disruptive. Austin fits this and this would also be relative value.

#46 Bruce Carter - OLB, North Carolina -- I know he's coming off of injury, but he would instantly upgrade our linebacker corp. He's appropriately fast and physical. He could be plugged in at SAM and hopefully perform at a high level for while.

Other players I would like us to target in the 2nd:
Martez Wilson - ILB, Illinois
Stephan Paea - DT, Oregon
Benjamin Ijalana - OT, Villanova

3rd Round:

#67 Marcus Gilbert - OT, Florida -- We need a RT and Gilbert would be relative value here. I believe he could start as a rookie.

Other players I would like us to target in the 3rd:
Marcus Cannon - OT/G, TCU -- I think he goes in the 2nd round, but we should take him if he's available
Orlando Franklin - OT/G, Miami
Quinton Carter - SS, Oklahoma
Mason Foster - OLB, Washington
Jarvis Jenkins - DE/DT, Clemson
Quan Sturdivant - LB, North Carolina
Jordan Todman - RB, Connecticut
Luke Stocker - TE, Tennessee
DeAndre McDaniel - S, Clemson

We need defense, defense defense and some offensive pieces to become respectable again.
