Final Mock

This is my final mock before the 2011 NFL Draft and I'm trying to be as realistic and accurate as possible, tell me what you think fellas.

Round 1 Pick #1 - The Panthers selects Cam Newton, QB, Auburn

We now know that Arizona and Washington have shown interest in moving up to #2 but I firmly believe that Carson Palmer would rather retire than play in Cincinnati again and they're now up a creek without a paddle.  With Cam Newton off the board the Bengals need to move up in front of Buffalo to ensure they get Blaine Gabbert.  Our Broncos trade the #2 overall pick to Cincinnati for their #4 and #35 picks.

Round 1 Pick #2 - The Bengals select Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri

Round 1 Pick #3 - The Bills select Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama

Round 1 Pick #4 - Our beloved Denver Broncos select Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M

With Marcell Dareus off the board Von Miller makes the most sense.  Patrick Peterson doesn't really fill a need and Nick Fairley would be a reach.  Von Miller is the best linebacker in the draft and will be an elite talent for years.  6'3" 246lbs ran 4.49 in the 40 at his pro day.

Round 2 Pick #35 - Our beloved Denver Broncos select Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon State

With Marvin Austin and the other top DT's taken in the first round we absolutely have to get a quality DT in the second round.  Stephen Paea is a top 20 talent who falls to us because of an injury and we're more than happy to take him.  6'1" 303lbs benched 225lbs 49 times.

After trading down in the first round our Broncos are in the same position again with multiple teams calling so they can get the best QB available.  Since the 49ers missed getting Cam Newton or Blaine Gabbert in the first round they're really going to want to move up ahead of Arizona, Tennessee, Washington, and Minnesota who all need QB's.  Our Broncos trade the #36 overall pick to the San Francisco for their #45, #76 and #141 picks.

Round 2 Pick #45 - Our beloved Denver Broncos select Rahim Moore, FS, UCLA

Rahim Moore is the best true saftey in this year's draft and he fills a major need for us.  6'0" 202lbs ran 4.53 in the 40 at the Combine.

Round 2 Pick #46 - Our beloved Denver Broncos select Martez Wilson, ILB, Illinois

I know Martez Wilson has his doubters here at MHR but at the #46 pick he's a real steal for us.  6'4" 250lbs ran 4.44 in the 40 at the Combine.

Round 3 Pick #67 - Our beloved Denver Broncos select Marcus Gilbert, RT, Florida

Marcus Gilbert's stock is rapidly rising and he's already used to protecting Tebow's blindside.  6'6" 330lbs with 34" arms.

Round 3 Pick #76 - Our beloved Denver Broncos select Lance Kendricks, TE, Wisconsin

Its no secret our tight ends are the worst in the league and with Kyle Rudolph and Luke Stocker off the board we are absolutely giddy to get the number 3 tight end in this year's draft.  6'3" 247lbs ran 4.50 in the 40 at his pro day with a 38" vertical jump.

Round 5 Pick #141 - Our beloved Denver Broncos select Roy Helu, RB, Nebraska

Roy Helu is a bruiser who will help share the load with Knowshon and add major depth.  6'0" 220lbs ran 4.42 in the 40 at the Combine.

Round 6 Pick #186 - Our beloved Denver Broncos select Jeron Johnson, SS, Boise State

Jeron-johnson_display_image_medium

With our current safeties way past their primes its time for another upgrade.  Anybody who watched Boise State this year knows Jeron Johnson is a raw talent with huge potential.  5'10" 212lbs ran 4.55 in the 40 at the Combine.

Round 6 Pick #189 - Our beloved Denver Broncos select Mike McNeill, TE, Nebraska

Adding another quality tight end late in the sixth round makes a lot of sense.  6'4" 232lbs solid prospect.

Round 7 Pick #247 - Our beloved Denver Broncos select Adrian Moten, OLB, Maryland

Looking for more depth.  6'2" 228lbs ran 4.55 in the 40 at his pro day.
