my 1 season defensive turnaround plan

Just sitting here, thinking about Football and our Broncos...Started thinking, maybe we can turn around the defense in 1 year...here's my plan.

Must Draft Dareus with second overall pick.

Paea at 36

One of the following LB's @ 46: Martez Wilson, Bruce Carter or Mason Foster

Kendrick-Ellis at 67...I'll leave further draft prognosticating to the mock guys

Resign Marcus Thomas

Sign Charles Johnson, Nick Barnett and Roman Harper in FA (or similar players if possible).

I see a DL that consists of: Rotation of Dumervil, Ayers, Johnson, Hunter & Veikune @DE...Dareus, Paea, Vickerson, Thomas & Kendrick-Ellis @DT

A LB core that fields Dj Williams, Nick Barnett and 1 of 3 possible rookies (Wilson, Carter, Foster), with Haggan, Mays, Woodyard & Larsen to fill gaps/depth

Secondary with Champ, Goodman, Cox, Squid & Vaughn @CB...Harper, Hill, McBath, Dawkins (possibly) & Bruton @ S

Scheme effectiveness, learning curve and implementation (coaching) will also play a major role in this process, however, I see where it's possible to rebuild this defense to a respectable level in one years time. With a few key free agent signings, we have the picks and an accomodating draft to fill most of our defensive needs. Obviously a couple years and drafts will go a long ways, but I really see the opportunity to make a major turn around on defense this off-season. Defense wins Championships, and I miss winning Championships...I miss winning period.

Broncos!
