Broncos brass picks Locker over Bowers

Here's an assumption: Denver has no interest in DaQuan Bowers. They skipped Bowers' pro-day (and missed out on seeing Jarvis Jenkins too) in order to spend the day with Jake Locker. Denver has now attended pro-days for Gabbert and Locker, had Locker in today for a private workout, and are scheduled to have Newton come to town. Denver has 100% more interest in a QB than Bowers. But again, that's just an assumption. Maybe Denver is planning on having Bowers in for a private workout in the next two weeks. But if Denver is in the smoke-signal game, they just sent out a big one.

The Broncos still had a contingent at the pro day

Reports indicated they were “well represented” at the Clemson pro day, and I’ve heard that they really like Jarvis Jenkins. Locker was in for his private visit on Friday, and they have a private visit with Bowers tomorrow.

Best had serious medical concerns (concussions) coming out of Cal, and not giving a thorough medical exam is a very dumb move. In my opinion.

Come on Sayre, you know better.

Teams do diligent research. We, as fans, are probably about 90% in the dark as to what our team is actually doing. It’s part of the chess game that is the NFL draft. I would be surprised if Denver even touches a quarterback in the draft, yet here they are talking to anyone with a throwing motion.
