Help or Hurt

I have given hours of thought to the subject of who the Panthers take with their 1st pick.  The story goes if they take a QB (Newton) then that helps us out.  But with the 5 best players in the draft being defensive players, does it not really help us if they take someone else?  Making the 2nd pick more likely to be traded for so the next guy in line for a QB has a shot at either of them?  I am going both ways on this one.  I started out being a "DO NOT trade and take the best D player on the board" guy to a "it is ok to trade just dont go below the 5 pick" and now am back to " Just take your favorite (enter names of Dareus, Peterson, Miller, Fairly).  I have never been in favor of trading back much further than 5 but if both QBs are on the board we have multiple options I am guessing.

On another note:  The more smokescreen we can throw at the QB and the more QB's drafted in the 1st round the better our 2 2nd round picks can become.

Who knows, it is such a crap shoot till the end anyway.  By the way this CBA is really effecting the draft because by this time in most years there is talk of contracts on the table for the #1 pick so we would actually have the #1 pick in the draft cause the Real #1 guy has already signed.

Would love to hear your take on all this.
