Quick Take:
Run stuffing mountain of a man. Could be moved into any gap to stop the run. Similar to Chris Baker in 2009, Ellis is a developmental size prospect with the tools to succeed at the next level, but who has endurance, weight, and consistency issues to work on. Also was a transfer. Can dominate a double team, and does a good job of being explosive when he stays low. Overall very inconsistent though, and doesn't show very good hand technique at any time. Can get bottled up by technically sound OL inside. Only adequate instincts and nose for the play, could have immediate impact as a space eater on a limited basis (i.e. low snap count).
Where He Goes in the Draft:
Bottom of the 3rd round
What is Denver's Interest In Him?
High.
Denver is doing their homework, and seem keenly interested in this more prototypical NT candidate. I suspect they feel he will be a falling value and that they may be able to pick him up in the 6th round, or even later. Has incomplete workouts this offseason due to hamstring issues, and his particular red flags have capped many a potential DTs career int eh NFl.

[Note: All players in the table are ranked by overall grade within their round grouping, however, the round groupings are based on where this player will likely be drafted based on where teams are currently selecting in the draft. Therefore a player is ranked within a group by his level of ability, but players in nearby groupings may have higher or lower actual grades, despite being in a different group.
