NW3030's only mock.
I believe that EFX will look to trade down but without avail. So I will mock this with out any trades and i will not be adding FA's. I think that the broncs will be active in the FA market if and when the lockout is lifted. So if I miss some areas in the draft don't worry they will most likely be addressed in FA. So without further ado NW3030 2011 mock draft. Feel free to rip me apart.
With the 2nd pick in the NFL draft the Denver Broncos select
Round 1(pick 2) Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama 6-3, 319.
Dareus is big and fast. He is very explosive at the point of attack and can play just about any spot on the line. The broncos run D was terrible last year and getting this blue chipper to anchor the middle of the line is a massive step in the right direction.
With the 36th pick in the NFL draft the Denver Broncos select
Round 2 (pick 36) Mikel Leshoure, RB, Illinois 6-0, 232.
Some experts believe the Leshoure is a borderline 1st round pick and I cant agree more, but if some how he is sitting there at 36 EFX have to take this kid. He is a down hill bruiser while not lighting fast he can carry the load 15 to 20 times a game and absolutely wear down defenses. Look I like Knoshown but he needs to have another back that can help share the load. I believe that Leshoure could be the best back in this class.
With the 46th pick in the NFL draft the Denver Broncos select
Round 2 (pick 46) Quinton Carter, FS, Oklahoma 6-1, 208
I was really on the Fence here between Moore and Carter. There is just something nasty that I like in Carter's game. He can tackle and is pretty darn good in coverage. Im not going to give comparisons but i believe that this kid is a starter from day one. He is a playmaker and with Hill and Dawk getting a little long in the tooth and one if not both might not be back next year Carter becomes the next great bronco safety.
With the 67th pick in the NFL draft the Denver Broncos select
Round 3 (pick 67) Lawrence Wilson, OLB, Connecticut 6-1, 229
Some may think this is a little high for Wilson but without the luxury of a 4th or a 5th the Broncos take this high motor kid. I watched alot of tape on this kid because the broncos seemed to be intrested in him. What I found is a very fast, instictive playmaker and can get sideline to sideline just about as fast as any linebacker in the draft. He plays both the run and pass very well and I can see him coming in and lighting it up right away. I will make a comparison on this kid he reminds me of patrick willis. If he can live up to just 75% of that we got ourselves a gamer and a thumper.
With the 186th pick in the NFL draft the Denver Broncos select
Round 6 (pick 186) Julius Thomas, TE, Portland State 6-4, 248
To me this is a risky pick but it seems like the growing trend. Not all baketball players that turn to football are going to be Antonio Gates but this kid has the tools to be very productive. Not the fastest but he does have great hands so we will see. Risk or Reward? You choose.
With the 189th pick in the NFL draft the Denver Broncos select
Round 6 (pick 189) DeMarcus Van Dyke, CB, Miami 6-1, 176
This is purely just a speed pick. He ran a 4.33 at the combine and can put that to good use on ST. If he makes it this far. A very lanky corner needs to put on a little bit of weight to compete for a spot on defense whether it be in the nickel or dime packages.
With the 247th pick in the NFL draft the Denver Broncos select
Round 7 (pick 247) Zac Pauga, FB, Colorado State 6-1, 246
Now alot of people have mocked a fullback in the 7th but in reality this is the only one we have worked out. So it gives him as good a shot as any. This kid is an absolute beast in the run blocking department. But what I really like about him is what he brings to the passing game. He is very good reciever out of the back field and is very instictive reading the blitz. While he is not the fastest guy out there, he hits like a freight train. Very good road grader for our two young backs ( Moreno and Leshoure).
Alright guys I didn't address some key spots like RT or MLB but like I said before We should be able to fill these spots in FA. So let me have it MHR'S.

Very , very good draft
I would be very happy with Marcell Dareus and Mikel Leshoure.
I am not sure Quinton Carter is a good value at 46 rather I would take him at 67.
I would then rather have Bruce Carter or Mason Foster at 46.
But it is a very solid Mock draft.
Thanks BFSD
I know the value might not be there for Carter but i really do think he is the real deal. As for Carter and Foster. I like Wilson as a better prospect. Just my opinion. Thanks again for the read.

I agree on needing another DT
Maybe they bring Bannan back.

Very good draft.
That TE may or may not work out, but where we are picking him that’s alright.

I like.
We have tried out Charles Clay who is FB/TE. Good mock.
A little nasty on defense would be nice.
Awesome draft man!!!
+ I’m thrilled to know we tried out Clay as well. That kid could be special!!!

Thanks Pale.
If the draft went down like this id be very stoked.
