The Denver Broncos were not done with the 4th Round. The Broncos traded away their 5th (141) & 6th round picks (186) for the Green Bay Packers' 4th(129) and 7th (204) round picks.

With the 129th pick, the Broncos selected Julius Thomas, tight end from Portland State. Thomas follows the path of other star basketball players converted to play tight end. Thomas has the size, 6'5'' 245 lbs, and athleticism to be an effective pass catching tight end, but has only played one year of football. Thomas holds many Basketball records at Portland State, including the record for the highest field goal percentage in the Big Sky Conference.

John Elway tweeted shortly after the pick:

"Julius Thomas is a talented tight end who has great potential. He's a tremendous athlete with good speed and strong hands."

The Broncos' next selection is the 24th pick, 189th overall, in the 6th round.

Go Broncos!
