NFL Free Agency Rules Coming Into Focus
The latest, and I mean latest, timeline for what can happen when in the crazy world of the Post-Lockout NFL has been released. Surely it will change, but it makes for fun writing today. Here is it, straight off of my TV Screen and NFL Network:
- Tuesday, July 26 - Team Voluntary Conditioning
- Tuesday, July 26, 10:00AM et - Drafted and Undrafted Rookies can sign
- Thursday, July 28 - Players can be cut or waived by their teams
- Friday, July 29, 6:00PM et - Free Agency Opens
- Sunday, July 31 - Jets and Texans begin Training Camp
My assumption would be that teams can begin talking to free agents immediately(Tuesday), but cannot make any signings or trades until Friday at 6:00PM et.
More to come!

Draft signings status? Will they be able to practice?
Have the Broncos been allowed to engage with the rookies’ agents to work on a contract to some degree? I know the CBA will dictate a lot of, but I’m wondering how long will it take to get Von Miller and others signed. I’m worried it would cut into the already shortened practice schedule.
I guess one payback for four months of agony is...
…a couple of the most exciting off season weeks ever.
If this be Hell, let us make the most of it!
NFLPA unanimously ratifies the new CBA according to the NFL Network!
Football uninterrupted for 10 years! GO BRONCOS!!! So excited for football to begin again!
