Time to mobilize the free agent sales force !

Tuesday 5:00 AM EDT John Elway steps into familiar territory, it's time to build a sales team and he's on the clock. He's got 3 days to reshape a 4-12 team and no less than 40 new names to add to the payroll via free agency and undrafted free agents. This is not your ordinary wine and dine, offer / counter offer, offseason free agency period. This is make the call, make your case and close hard baby. No time for the "think about it and get back to me" crowd, this is get em in the drivers seat, get em hooked and send em to my sales office at the first sign of interest. So how do you turn free agncy into car sales you ask. Let's jump.... 

 OK, go ahead say it...WTF asinsoin, how the hell do you equate car sales to signing free agents. Answer: It's all about putting the right people in the right place with the right strategy baby!!

   First things first, you need a sales team, and I'm not talking Xanders here, for this exercise he's the F&I guy who gets the numbers on paper after the deals are agreed to and BTW the last guy I want talking to my customers... err free agents. I want firepower, willpower and horsepower. So let's say we start with Dawkins, Tebow, Champ and BLoyd on the front line, two for O and 2 for D. High energy leaders who are fearless, have the rep and are willing to do whatever it takes to make this team a championship team now ! Then EFX identify the highest profile targets, the must haves, the difference makers the FA's that EFX have identified as tier 1and we unleash the Wolverine, the Tebow the Champ and the coolest WR in the game. That's right boys your first day back from the lockout and you've been reassigned to the sales force, please see Mr. Elway in his office and be ready to sell the vision of Bronco dominance by 7 AM..we're on the  clock. First piece of the puzzle, build a dominant sales force...check!   

   As anyone who has ever bought a car knows you've gotta have a closer, the magic man in the office that gets deals closed. Someone who doesn't just know the game and the numbers but knows what motivates people and how to motivate people to make decisions. Who better than the ultimate closer, a man who not only has more comebacks and the 2nd most W's in NFL history but also knows a little bit about car sales...that's right meet the sales manager..errr VP John (sign right here) Elway. Second piece of the puzzle identify the "Closer" and feed him the ball..errr leads...check! 

  Finally, you've gotta have the numbers guy sitting in the back waiting with contracts in hand and the ability to make final adjustments and fine tune the deal so everybody's happy and nobody leaves the building without a car...err signed contract...check!

   So tomorrow will be one of the most memorable days in the history of the NFL, by the time the other teams show up for work at 8AM think about it for a couple of hours and start making their calls all they'll hear is "uhh sorry man, you see Bdawk just called and I'm a Bronco now"    

   Hey I know this is a really stupid fantasy, but this is gonna be unlike any free agent signing period ever and calls for some serious creative planning and aggressive tactics...on the other hand  I'm probably just giddy that we're finally gonna have some FOOTBALL !!!!!!
