Im hearing a 3rd for Orton from Miami

And thats as high as they’ll go. Would anyone else rather do a player for player trade, than a 3rd?

by valas40 on Jul 27, 2011 8:39 AM MDT reply actions

That means you hold out for a 2nd or a player

or you don’t do it…if they are willing to give a 3rd that means they want him…you have the player and you hold out for more or you keep him…depends how much you really want the cap space

Make it a 2nd or a 3rd and Smith or Davis.

...who am I kidding...take the 3rd and lets move on....all this Orton garbage is effecting us going and actually finding defensive help for the team...

My feeling…they need to move Orton to have the money for DT…the Broncos better get it done…and fast….as options drying up QUICKLY!

Or you could hold out for a

2nd, come up snake eyes, cut Orton and eat what’s left of his cap hit. Not a good result.

no cap hit to cut or trade

but I believe they would eat the salary in terms of cash, since he will get the roster bonus anyday now, and the salary was either fully or partly guaranteed.

$24 million guaranteed

Actual potential value is $50 million over 5 years

The deal is for five years and $50 million, with $24 million guaranteed. His deal is believed to be among the richest guaranteed contracts for a receiver
