Follow me after the jump for some highlights.
Defensive Tackle Depth
The Broncos nearly doubled the amount of defensive tackles on their roster with the addition of Ronnell Brown and Colby Whitlock, who join Mitch Unrein, Kevin Vickerson, and Louis Leonard.
Whitlock is probably the more prominent of the two players, but he faces an uphill battle to making the team. He's a heck of a hard worker though, starting nearly 50 games in his Texas Tech career and earning All Big 12 honors.
Brown is a smaller tackle prospect at 6'1" and about 285, but he threw up 30 bench reps at his pro day, and has some athletic ability to boot. He is a nice camp body.
Teammates Reunite
With the signing of quarterback Adam Weber, the Broncos have reunited one of the Big Ten's most illustrious passing duos. Weber joins the Broncos with former teammate and good friend Eric Decker, a third round pick from a year ago. Decker and Weber were like Batman and Robin in their years at Minnesota.
Weber joins the Broncos after starting 50 straight games for the Gophers, and he is a very interesting name to watch in camp. Maybe we'll get a nice shot of he and Decker reuniting this pre-season.
Super Mario
Mario Fannin is an excellent combination of size (5'11" 237) and speed (4.37), and he is one of the better receivers from the running back positions in this entire crop of rookies. He is going to have a good opportunity to play in Denver. He has good vision and a very strong lower body. If you're going to training camp, keep an eye out for him, I believe he is number 42.
Another player I really like from this crop is Adam Grant. He has had a lot of injury problems but he is a heck of a football player and is very talented. At 6'6" 325, he's a massive guy who was an All Pac 10 performer. He could be a really nice find, especially since we need offensive line depth.

I didn't find this a very quick search
Any chance Deron Mayo is related to LB Jerod Mayo in NE?

he is going to be a LB for us. He has pretty great speed for a LB (4.59). He played for a small school and did well.
His brother says he’s the most athletic one in their family.

good stuff sayre
too bad about bellore and browning, but this crop is strong even without them… I would rank the top guys:
Mario Fannin
Derek Domino
Mark Dell
Adam Grant
Jamel hamler
Colby Whitlock
Curt Porter
These are the best chance of making the team IMO.

3 LBers? Any thoughts now on DJ Williams?
by bfree2bronc on Jul 27, 2011 12:15 PM MDT up reply actions
I actually only see Deron Mayo having a chance to make the team because of his athletic ability.
DJ will still be a Bronco and a starter at that. Not going anywhere.

You honestly like this crop of UFAs.
IMO, we’ve done a lot better than this in other years. Save Fannin, this group was really ho-hum.
You think any of these guys make the team?
"Well at least we picked a good year to suck" said Pat Bowlen after countersigning Von Miller's rookie contract.
even one making it beats the odds
Fannin has a great shot, the rest of them, probably somewhere around 1%….
The guys I listed above i would rank at varying levels between 7th rounder and “has a shot”… everyone else that they brought in I would put below even that.
And as far as CFAs go, yeah, I would call that a good class :)
Add Bellore and Browning, or a handful of other guys from the top 20 UDFA and I think we would be talking GREAT class. But of course, that is easier said than done…

No way do we have a player named Derek Domino
get it, Eric Clapton’s old band “Derek and the Dominos”
"When Tim Tebow does pushups, he's not pushing himself up, he's pushing the world down."
"Gear down there big shifter This is the "No Bull" review man…" a total Lebowski-esque one liner from Sadaraine, whether he realizes it or not - comedic gold.

I think Fannin makes the team and we dont go after big name FA RB

I think he makes the team regardless of who we bring in
He is an absolute freak athlete with his Size and speed combo

Plus LenDale White
He’s still with the team, isn’t he?
Still on the roster
Hopefully he’s healed and been conditioning properly.

That's a great deal for them 21mil guaranteed! I don't want my team paying that for a player who has had injury problems...
One game injured and lost for the season? Guaranteed! Guaranteed? Hmm..

What's up with all the WR's?
I thought this was our strongest position.

Good question
I was wondering the same thing. That is one area of the team I was happy with.
It all starts in the trenches - HT 11/11/08
Leave the hateful vitriol to the uninformed - HT 3/16/09
Just trying to find that next Rod Smith that's all...Most of these guys will be gone before the ink get's dry...
Mark Dell is intriguing to me though…

Gaffney traded. It had to have happened right when I ask why all the rookie WR’s. Funny…

This deal makes sense for both party's in Jarmon is young at 23 years...
He isn’t fuzzy headed filled with some other coaches philosophy and the type of player Fox wants…Get ready for more trades to be dealt!

I always enjoy
seeing young rookie free agents have a chance to fulfill their dreams. Hopefully one of them is good enough to assist us and make a major impact on the field! Good luck to each of them!

With Coach Zorro on our side, we will slice opponents to ribbons. Tim Tebow gives me hope and I already have faith and charity in my heart! I see a propitious future rife with Lombardis for our Broncos!

The 2 I am most excited to watch are Mario Fannin and Deron Mayo
I think Mayo will make a great backup LB and an even better ST player. Pretty fast.
Tim Tebow wears 3WM and drinks Tuscan whole milk.
Brandon Bing!
Wasn’t he high on our undrafted rookies list? Some sick 40 times, like 4.28 or something.

WWTTD?
Ugggg.
Other than Finnan, this is an unimpressive class of UFAs.
"Well at least we picked a good year to suck" said Pat Bowlen after countersigning Von Miller's rookie contract.
That's because
in this truncated offseason we haven’t had enough time to build up unrealistic expectations. In a normal year each player would be the subject of an MHR bio highlighting his incredible college achievments, and an in-house fan club would form touting that player’s unique skillset and probability of beating the odds to become a key contributor. This year they’re on their own.
