Surreal to watch Orton line up with the 1st team and have virtually no interaction with Tebow. it was almost as if they went out of their ways to avoid each other.
Of course though, all eyes were on Tebow. I wanted to see if his throwing motion looked any different and if he made good reads. Sadly I was disappointed. I get that it was the first day of training camp, and I have heard all the excuses on how the guy is not a great practice player but a "gamer." I have even heard that Tebow is at his best when everything is chaos. As Bronco fans we better hope all this is true.
Tebow attempted only a handful of throws that were longer than ten yards, and I can only recall one completion to Decker than amounted to anything over 15 yards. Mostly he stuck to check downs and short dump offs over the middle. His accuracy continued to be a problem and his throws were wobbly on a consistent basis. Exchanging reps with Brady and Kyle, Tim just stuck out with his weird throwing motion, and odd footwork.
Let me end with saying I am a Bronco fan. I take no pleasure in saying negative things about Tebow, and nor do I want to see him fail. Above all I want to see the Broncos thrive and have the best players possible. From what I have seen of Tebow so far, and then today at training camp, he is more than just "unorthodox" he just does not possess the skills, and talent to play QB at the NFL level. I will root hard for him this year and the Broncos, but mark this post now as I think with Tebow starting all 16 games we will possibly be in the Luck lottery.
