We were interested in him enough to sign him to an offer sheet for more than an insignificant amount. He sounds like a player, one who could contribute at a low level in a number of ways.
He’s not a lock but he offers us something. View him as a candidate; not as an automatic member of the roster.

I'm starting to smell what you're steppin' in, Boydy, and I don't like it.
I just saw the eagles SB page….. and the post is about how they have addressed everything they needed in 56 hours of “awesomesauce.” It would be nice for once in the past 5 years to have the front office’s actions line up with the fans’ expectations. I wanna feel like we are totally on the right track. Instead, every move leaves me puzzled.

Lots of ire for basically an inconsequential depth spot.
We all want free agency acquisitions to fill the spots of greatest need first, but I think picking up depth like this hardly warrants the anger.

He was just cut. McCoy was OC when we last signed him to an offer sheet. There’s undoubtedly still interest in him and the time to sign him is now.
It should be an uncontroversial move rather than how you’re treating it. Don’t think in terms of what it isn’t, but of what it is.

furthermore from reading Kaptain Kirks report of the TC Royal seems to be relishing the extra touches. no need to grab another WR, especially when we still have such a solid WR corp and blossoming TE Corp, ESPECIALLY when FOX likes to run the ball. I’m patient and optimistic, but am really scratching my head on this one… Seems like we should be going after Okoya instead.

That doesn’t think Willis makes the cut. I just don’t get the worship of a guy that can’t stay healthy and never cracks anything but the practice squad. I think Anderson goes in as the 3rd or 4th receiver.

This guys career high for catches is 39 and his career total is 89. He’s being brought in to add competition and if he even makes the team he’ll be our 4th receiver at best. He’s probably coming over for peanuts too.

First off
We’re working out Derek Landri and Ty Warren and I think we’re also looking at Muir so we’re not ignoring DT.
Secondly, Cofield went for 6 yrs 36 million… way too much for a guy whos primarily a run stuffer. Jenkins went for 5 yrs 25 million… even worse for a 30 year old DT who’s injury prone. Stephen Bowen got 27 million over 5 years and Ray McDonald got 20 million over 5 years.
My point is all those players were overpayed and I’m glad we didn’t get them. Mebane is the only DT to have been signed and not been overpayed for but he took paycut to stay in Seattle. Otherwise I guarantuee he would’ve recieved the biggest contract out of all of them.
I’ve always said I hate when teams overindulge in FA and I stand by that and I’m glad the broncos are not overpaying overrated players.

Hey guys,
I do some blogging for the Texans, and have been a Broncos fan since I could breath… I’m thrilled to see DA coming back to Colorado.. (CSU alum). My general break down of the guys goes a little like this… He is a very solid guy and could be a great slot receiver if they would leave him in the field… I don’t remember many dropped balls from him but Houston was so stacked with receivers he didn’t get much of a chance..
Also the funniest guy on the team… someone needs to get him a radio show right away because he is frickn hilarius…

Insurance Policy
Royal has been hurt in each of the last two years. As for Wills, he is unproven in real games. I feel this is a good move for a vet player, at a reasonable price.

question the move really do! Got plenty of wr’s already. We need dt’s badly. Yet we have yet to sign any. Didn’t want re treds but will have settle for them. Orton is still and not happy about that either tim needs his reps. EFx over played there hand to much. where is the commitment to winning? Its my nature to question the broncos powers to be as season ticket holder. I will be every home like always. I hope for the best as always.

Jarmon is a DE and we needed one of those too.. We still need a starting DT. If we fail to resign Thomas and a guy like Warren… Tim Lynch can kiss his dreams of being decent goodbye.
We will have a “garbage” DT rotation if all we have are Thomas and Vickerson with two lesser backups.
