Matchups/Players To Watch
Broncos:
Tim Tebow – Tebow has been the talk of the preseason. He was wanted by most fans to be the starting quarterback and now he is at the point that the future of his career has been questioned. It looks like he will have another year to be evaluated and if he plays good in these preseason games, it could help determine his future.
Eddie Royal – Coming off hip surgery, Royal is still looking to get back to the form of his rookie year. He is also a special teams threat for the Broncos. Hopefully he has his speed back and is utilized better in Fox’s system than he was in McDaniels.
Rahim Moore – Moore was drafted in the second round by the Broncos. He is hoping to be the start of a youth movement for the secondary that is really old. He is a ball hawk and he will probably be tested a lot so hopefully he can make a statement and get his hands on the ball whether it is interceptions or batting them down.
Cowboys:
Tyron Smith vs. Von Miller - The two rookies will battle for the rights to Tony Romo.
The two Gronks - One of Broncos TE Dan Gronkowski's brothers is the starting FullBack for the Cowboys. Chris Gronkowski is in his 2nd year.
Defense - Rob Ryan’s new defense that is still a work in progress.
Keep an eye on the rookie free agent WR Raymond Radway, who some believe has been the next best receiver in camp.

Broncos
Rookie Report:
· SLB Von Miller continues to run with the first team and is starting to find his groove as a pass rusher. His first-step explosion can't be taught.
· SS Quinton Carter has dropped on the depth chart with the return to action of Brian Dawkins but Carter should play, particularly in heavy dime and nickel packages.
· Jeremy Beal began camp on the defensive line, but with numerous signings on the front four has been switched to linebacker. Beal could face an uphill battle to make the team.
Injury Report:
· Linebacker D.J. Williams has missed all of camp other than a couple walkthrough practices with a hamstring injury. Coach John Fox said Williams has done vigorous workouts lately and it's likely Williams will be back to work fully following the first preseason game Aug. 10.
· Defensive tackle Louis Leonard had been running with the first team at nose but a knee injury and the additions of Brodrick Bunkley and Warren have limited his time to make a more complete impression. Coach John Fox, though, had Leonard in Carolina and knows his strengths and weaknesses.
· WR Demaryius Thomas has been a fixture at practice but remains on the non-football injury list after Achilles surgery. Thomas can be seen jogging extremely lightly and catching passes on nearby fields but remains a PUP list candidate to open the season.

Like a Chief fan calling his team the “Chefs” or a Raider fan calling his team “Faiders” Never understood why fans of the Broncos would call them Donkeys
"It's all over fat man!"

Let's not start this again... ; ) LOL.
Do you remember the old timers getting all bent out of shape because “Donkeys” was a term of endearment in the old South Stands?

I think my favorite thing about MHR is the live game threads. It is mostly rash and knee-jerk, but I love the community and atmosphere, always a high-lite of my week! Nothing like chilling with Bronco fans all over the world and sharing in the pain.

If the Broncos went to Super Bowls (and they did), then they have won 6 AFC Championships not 2...
Nice post btw and thanks for the info.
I guess if you count those as championships....Ill add it
You can tune a piano but you cant tune a fish
They are championships
just not league ones. It’s like if Calgary loses to Montreal in the Grey Cup, the Stamps were still Western Conference champions

So I have this awesome trick that any Bronco fan can do to feel good...
I have a friend in Bolivia, and when I want to pick up my spirits I just fly down to visit him and go to a local thrift store…
Therein lies a world where the Broncos won 4 SBs. Its on the Tshirts plain as the nose on my face….
Surreal.

Millions of people buy AFC, NFC Championship shirts/hats every year.
That’s why the t-shirt companies have them all set up to print before the conference championships are even played.
Did you know the first Broncos coach was a Rider?
Did you also know that the first man inducted into the Broncos Ring of Fame was a Rider?
Just sayin’….Go Roughriders! :P

Didn't know that. Damn
The only Bronco of any significance that I know of to play for the Bombers was Lenny Walls. Riders win that battle.
Game threads
I just can’t watch and type at the same time. My full attention must be on the screen. I did the game thread for the College National Champs and that was epic, however.

It was against the Cowpokes in preseason
that we got our first inkling of the run defense’s impending decline. That was the run contain experiment, with both DTs playing two gap and the ends spread out wide, and the Cowboys gashed us in preseason. We kept talking about players not staying in their gaps and expected it to get fixed — it was just preseason, after all — but that game turned out to be prologue to the regular season and the seasons to follow. If our run defense starts an upward climb wouldn’t it be great if we got the first inkling of it in tonight’s game? That would be a nice symmetry.

1st preseason game. Now we get to see what the rooks have plus what kinda punch this d might give. Really intrigued about JThomas want to see what this kid is made of. And of course we all get to see if Timmy Terrific can make some strides to make mr.orton uncomfortable!

Things im looking forward to.
1) Seeing if Tim has what it takes to put some heat on Orton
2) Watching The revamped D
3) Seeing how Von, JT, and Moore look
4) Seeing what our run game might look like
5) Even though its preseason A BRONCOS WIN!
Courage is not the absence of fear. It is acting in spite of it.
Don't think TT will be given the chance
I assume that by the time TT enters the game most if not all of the Boys first stringers will be off the feild. Unless Orton falls down, Tim will be given the chance to show that he is progressing in his development and deserves the number 2 spot. Tebow would have to play totally lights out to push Orton at this point.
I am more interested in see if Brady Quinn is in fact ready to turn his carrer around. I do think he has a much better shot to move up the depth chart than Tebow. Based on what I have been able to read, the distance between Tebow and Quinn is not much through training camp. Both appear to be well behind Kyle Orton. Excited at the prospects of Tebow’s future, but we have 4 QBs in camp and I want each one of them to suddenly jump out and become the next John Elway or Joe Montana.
Can't wait!
If you reply to a comment/post/fanshot of mine, I will more likely then not respond to it, unless you come off like a d-bag.

I was wondering the same thing
The depth chart had him at DE.
"Surprised to see you, Captain, though pleased." — from Star Trek episode Space Seed.
Top 10 I'm most excited for:
1) Tebow- He made last preseason really exciting. Whether he fails or succeeds, he should do the same once again this year
2) Von Miller/ Elvis Dumervil- If they were playing more they’d be #1. Can’t wait to see what they can do
3) Rahim Moore- Loving the reports from camp. Want to see it in a game situation
4) Brady Quinn- See if he can make some strides this offseason
5) D-Line- Just how will we hold up?
6) Cassius Vaughn- Should see a lot of him. Hopefully it’s encouraging
7) Special Teams- Someone’s going to make a name for themselves tonight on special teams.
8) Ayers- How’s he look at his natural position
9) Woodyard- Should be starting tonight; see how he does in that situation
10) O-Line- see how the first unit looks and then just how bad the depth really is.

No save ammunition all bullets in gun now- Bruce Campbell
Stand up straight a man looks more confident when he is erect- Taj
I don't always drink and drive, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis- BroncoPH
BRONCOS 4 LIFE
All of the above and more.
With Dallas playing a couple of newbies on OLine this might not give us much to look at with our DLine…Interesting.
I like the game date/time graphic you put up.
I actually saved it to my computer and used it as my desktop wallpaper each week during the regular season last year. Will do the same this year, starting now.
GO BRONCOS!
Last time we beat the Cowboys
My wife and I were there celebrating her birthday. Sadly, she is a Cowboys fan and I had to be nice and supportive saying things like “Hey, they could pull it out in the end”

Brandon Lloyd: "No, I want to say, ‘F— you,’ and I mean that in the most professional way."
I'll have to try that
Kinda sounds like a black and tan, but much stronger. I love Negra Modelos

Am I the only one...
who looked at the 9-7 record in 2006 as our last winning season and felt sad?
There is no need to dwell on the past
time to usher in a new era!

With Coach Zorro on our side, we will slice opponents to ribbons. Tim Tebow gives me hope and I already have faith and charity in my heart! I see a propitious future rife with Lombardis for our Broncos!

You're right
but it’s still sad that was the first thing that jumped out to me.
No you are not
Ok, Von Doom is a way better nickname than what I liked. So cool to be excited about a pass rush in Denver again!
I want to say how awesome a particular Rockies player is and that he will be the MVP, but the last time I mentioned it in my sig he went out with an injury, so, GO PLAYER WHO IS SO AWESOME!
Wow, 4 years. That year was a turning point in soooo many ways also. Not to dwell, but it sure is interesting. The benching of Plummer and putting Cutler in. Seeing the downfall of Shanahan really start. And I remember that 49er game at the end of the season we lost in overtime, to I think miss the playoffs… 2006 was definitely a turning point.
You're not my mom
Were looking healthy at least going into the this 1st preseason game
They were dropping like flies last year. Hope that carries into the season (knock on wood)

'bout to go watch this thing in Cowboy territory...
Love it!
You can be dumb... that's ok! There are many dumb people.
You can be an a$$hole... that's ok! There are many of these as well.
Unfortunately you cannot be both...
Ok... prove me wrong.
It couldn't be as good as the Texans game last year though
I had my Tebow jersey on and at half-time these guys were working me over pretty good… I told them that the game ain’t over and they laughed… but not for long.
Go Broncos!

Just a quick observation from the first 30 seconds of this read
Receiving Leader (all-time): Rod Smith – 11,389 yards
Receiving Leader (all-time): Michael Irvin – 11,904 yards
Less than 600 yards separate our UFA from Dallas’ 1st rd draft pick Hall-of-Famer. Rod also has a higher career TD count. And Rod is considered a long shot from ever entering the hall? What the hell did I miss here?

A little example of why no one was willing to give up a second rounder and long-term contract
Broncos
Kyle Orton – 3653 yards, 20 Touchdowns, 9 Interceptions, 58.8%, 87.5 QB Rating
Cowboys
Jon Kitna – 2365 Yards, 16 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 65.7%, 88.9 QB Rating
The comparison has been floating around for a couple of years, there it is in black and white, and it favors Kitna, who only started 9 games.
Mediocrity is like a lollipop: lick it once and you'll suck forever.
I can see it's starting already.
What a great fan!
