I know the whole Tebow thing has been been beaten to death, but I came across a very interesting stat comparison that may not have been discussed here so I'd thought I'd share it with you guys.(If this is something that also has been beaten to death, my bad, I don't come here that often.)
While scrolling through the ESPN comments a month or so back, I saw a comment that said that Tebow's rookie stats were better than Vick's rookie stats. I was rather surprised by this, but didn't bother looking it up till now. The results were not what you might expect.
Completed 40 of 82 passes (50%) for 654 yards with 5 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Ran 43 times for 227 yards with 6 touchdowns and one fumble.
Completed 50 of 113 pass (42.2%) for 785 yards with two touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Ran 31 times for 289 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 fumble.
After this point in their careers, Vick was hailed as the next best thing, while everyone is saying Tebow isn't even fit to be a starter.
Is it just me or is there some double standered here?
Obviously, you guys know a whole lot more about the Broncos than I do, what do you think of these stats?
Edit: just to be clear. My point isn't about whether Tebow is going to be as good as Vick. My point is that when you compare the media coverage and stats of Vick and Tebow, there seems to be a lot of bias/hypocrisy going on.
