MileHighReport has once again been nominated for a Blog Award, this time as a part of CBS Denver's Most Valuable Blogger Award.  Please take a moment to VOTE FOR MHR!

MHR Ticket Center - With tonight's opener at Sports Authority Field, be sure to remember there is a ticket resource RIGHT HERE at Mile High Report!

Broncos' aggressiveness on defense is exactly what was ordered - The Denver Post
Dennis Allen is demanding a lot of turnovers and a strong pass rush from the Broncos defense this year.

NFL.com news: Rookie DB Moore insists hit on Bills' Jones was clean
Safety Rahim Moore's vicious hit on Buffalo wide receiver Donald Jones drew outrage and shoves from the Bills and kudos from his Denver Broncos teammates.

Status of Peyton Manning, Chris Johnson two of the biggest questions in NFL these days - Peter King - SI.com
One reason I love NFL camps and the proximity to the players I cover: I'm standing in the Titans locker room waiting to meet tight end Jared Cook late Thursday afternoon, and the TV is showing an ESPN story on the top 10 sports rivalries, counting down from 10 to 1.

Woody Paige: Broncos' blast from past could be indication of good things to come - The Denver Post
Omen? The last time the Broncos thrashed the Bills in their first home exhibition, they would go on to win the Super Bowl. Amen.

The Morning After: Preseason Week 2 | DenverBroncos.com
Injuries were a tough part of Saturday's win, the kickers put on a show and Britt Davis caught his first touchdown.

Rahim Moore: Playing in the Gray Area | MaxDenver.com
There are two short-term certainties in Rahim Moore’s professional life. One is that his team will practice four times between Monday and Thursday. The other is that at some point, he will walk to his locker-room stall and see a FedEx package from the National Football League waiting for him.

Don't put much stock in those Tim Tebow trade rumors | jacksonville.com
Internet reports are surmising that Tim Tebow, now a third-string quarterback, is about to be traded from the Denver Broncos. Of course, that source is a fan writing for Bleacher Report, so take that with about the largest grain of salt ever recorded. (Anything with Tebow's name on it draws page views, you know.)

First and Orange Blog

DJ Williams makes statement, kind of, in support of UM | First-and-Orange
Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams still isn’t talking to reporters here in Denver about allegations made by a former University of Miami booster that Williams was among the UM players who received illegal benefits while they played for the Hurricanes.

Bruton released from hospital after head injury | First-and-Orange
Broncos safety David Bruton has been released from a Denver hospital and is resting at home after suffering a head injury in Saturday’s preseason game against the Bills.

The Denver Post

Q&A: NFL's injured-reserve list has salary cap ramifications - The Denver Post
Todays questions come from Steve: How does a players injury affect the salary cap? For example, would putting defensive tackle Ty Warren on injured reserve create salary cap space to sign another player?

Denver Broncos' defense shows aggressive nature - The Denver Post
If you visited any of the open practices at Dove Valley over the last three weeks, undoubtedly you heard at least one, and probably both, of the following two phrases being yelled by defensive coordinator Dennis Allen.

Broncos' offensive line is playing great so far - The Denver Post
Maybe its the magic of Magazu. That would be Dave Magazu, the offensive line coach.

QB Ratings

Glad to see Orton with a QB rating of 135, but when does the new QB rating on a 100 point scale that ESPN showcased this year go into effect, if at all?

If I can't have high expectations that succeed, I''d rather have high expectations and be disappointed than have low expectations and be resigned to losing.

Seeing the MSM focus on Tebow playing #3 allows the Denver Broncos to fly way under the radar in terms of what football is really about… Playing well, scoring points and winning.

Denver’s starters and NFL caliber backups are two for two in working over Dallas and Buffalo.

As our schedule is very easy to start the season, we could be looking at a nice 3-0 start that no one sees coming, least of all our opponents.

Can’t wait to see Von and Elvis pinning their ears back to destroy Andy Dalton in week 2. That game should be really fun. Same goes for Oakland’s struggling O-line in week one.

Xanders, call Seattle.. Brady Quinn and our 5th rounder for Seattle's 2012 2nd rounder (moves to a 1st if Quinn gets them to the playoffs). Time for some revenge for the Phonz trade.

NFL

is taking aggression out of football. They better be careful or they’re gonna have a bunch of guys out there thinking instead of playing the game. I just hope it doesn’t mess w/ the quality of the defense. Moores hit used be cheered, seemed the other day like everything was a contradiction. You had guys giving him props, others mad & coaches in the grey area….I mean this is football right?

Release the Tebow!

Merill Hodge had about 20 concussions as a ho-hum FB. His brain is damaged and will only get worse with age.

Xanders, call Seattle.. Brady Quinn and our 5th rounder for Seattle's 2012 2nd rounder (moves to a 1st if Quinn gets them to the playoffs). Time for some revenge for the Phonz trade.
