Are We Actually Better?

I was listening to the radio for a few minutes this morning and heard this statement. "I do believe the Denver Broncos are an improved team.  I think they are a Six win Team."  Now I'm not going to venture a guess as to what our record will be at the end of the year, but I was curious, Are We An Improved Team?

We only have 2 games of data to look at but it's something.  I simply compared the first two weeks of this years preseason to last years.  Nothing fancy.  The areas that I feel will indicate whether we are better than last year are: our ability to rush the ball, stop the rush, sack the QB and protect the QB.  There are obviously dozens of other areas to analyze and ways to look deeper, but I don't have the energy.

Here's the numbers

I don't know how much you can read into it and you certainly can't translate this info into Wins and Losses but it seems fair to say that the areas I considered biggest areas needing improvement HAVE improved.

109 yards better rushing

113 less yards rushed against us

.5 yards/rush/game better

.2 less yards/rush/game against us

Given up Half as many sacks

This isn't some mind blowing post but I had to look for myself and figured I'd share. Beside, I'm SO freaking tired of the QB talk.
