Tebow Bashing may be due to dislike of McDaniels.
The article states that much of the Tebow hate is due to McD being in charge.

Nah.....
I think the “discussions” were generated because he is not ready to be a Starting QB like the Unknoiwing Multitudes and Armchair GMs thought he would be Then, I think, the silliness of the fanatics got so tedious that it engendered mockery and baiting. Self-proclaimed “experts” were shown to be foolish. Those dynmaics created national levels of mockery. Just another fad du jour at the Broncos’ boards…
Certainly a part of it, IMO, though probably not the strongest part
The whole thing seems multifactorial. Backlash against the perceived hype, against the religious aspect, against the goody-two-shoes even if not against the religious aspect, against McD, against Florida, probably even some residual dislike of Elway not going to the colts (some people “hate” really well), against anybody that challenges Orton (hello…. y.k.w.y.a.), against “running” QBs in general, against perceived wasting of a draft pick ….you name it, and it seems to be a part of it.
It’s interesting that there sems to be a group that recognizes the excess piling on and a group that rationalizes it as not really there….not sure what the dynamics of that whole thing are, however.

Very well thought out
and it makes tons of sense.
Rahim Moore once climbed Mount Everest, Mount Kilamanjaro, and K-2 using only one bottle of oxygen and a sack of trail mix.

“"Josh McDaniels sucks," said Silver bluntly. "He’s a egomaniacal little Belichick wannabe cheater, who failed and failed miserably and has set the franchise back – and that’s on Pat Bowlen, by the way, for giving him that kind of power."
What a professional Silver is. Nice quote jackass.
Xanders, call Seattle.. Brady Quinn and our 5th rounder for Seattle's 2012 2nd rounder (moves to a 1st if Quinn gets them to the playoffs). Time for some revenge for the Phonz trade.
That's about the time I stopped reading Silver LOL
Chiefs look like crap tonight BTW
No matter who starts at QB, we will be 8-8 or better (8-2-11)

Hmmm.... I don't think so.
I think the criticism of Tebow comes from several places.
First, (Most people here won’t want to hear this) I think the largest part of the criticism is from people holding to an honest opinion that Tebow is no where near being a quality starting quarterback, and is not likely to be able to overcome the fundamental flaws in his technique. (Before anyone start’s bashing me, let me say that I’m not saying this, but that others are saying this) These people might be right or wrong in their opinion, but for most of them it’s an honest opinion.
Second, I think there is an element of disdain and ridicule for his faith. I don’t think this is a huge factor, but their are those that dislike those who are openly Christian.
Third, there might be some dislike of Tebow, (particularly by former players) because of his endorsements, his book deal, and the general attention he has garnered. All this despite not yet haven proven himself at all in the NFL. Yes, it’s a petty reason to dislike someone, but hey, it’s human nature, and people are petty.
There might be some dislike of Tebow because of McDaniels, but I think that would mostly be among Bronco fans. Outside of the realm of Bronco fandom, McDaniels might be looked at as an incompetent coach who set back Denver tremendously, but hey, why do they care. They have no love for the Broncos. In fact, McDaniels was probably well loved by fans of the other AFC West teams. Outside of Bronco Country (where admittedly, McDaniels IS despised) Mcdaniels is looked at as incompetent, but he is not hated. Most are indifferent to him. (Silver not withstanding)
The "hate of Tebow" thing is way overblown
Frankly, IMO, the biggest part of the discussion got started when misguided Tebow fans started bashing Orton, thinking (childlishly) that if they bashed Orton long enough and loudly enough, somehow, someway, that would make a difference and Orton would get out of Tebow’s way. They said many really rotten and untrue things about Orton in the process, and got the same kind of thing thrown back at them.
It was all quite childish, and I blame the Tebow faction for starting it.
But really, I see very little “hate” of Tebow. And I think that relating any of what has happened to McD is a total red herring.
Personal relations consist of an uneasy truce between powerful, solitary fantasy systems.
