Don't know how many of you look at the nfl.com website, but Michael Lombardi, currently en flambe with Broncos fans over his articles on a certain young QB, has posted his ratings of the top players in the league.
Here are the links to the Defense: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d821b7605/article/blue-chips-and-red-chips-defensive-position-rankings
And the Offense: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d821b7505/article/blue-chips-and-red-chips-offensive-position-rankings-?module=HP11_content_stream
I'm fairly new to this site, and to nfl.com, but I have to wonder where Lombardi gets his eyesight checked:
- No Champ Bailey, the 10 time Pro Bowl CB in the top 15 CBs? Or even an honorable mention?
- No Elvis Dumervil as a DE (though there is an honorable mention)?
- No Ryan Clady as an OT?
- No Brandon Lloyd as a WR in the top 15 WRs, in spite of some NFL-leading statistics?
Awfully hard to take lists like this even semi-seriously, with these omissions. I wonder how Prater and Colquitt would have fared in he had rated kickers, too.
Are there ANY media guys out there who have some credibility?
