Analysis: Broncos' defense shows great improvement - The Denver Post
Denver has surrendered at least 400 points in three of the last four years, the teams worst stretch since the defensive wasteland that was much of the 1960s.
Broncos sport lightning quick pass rush but have a gaping hole in middle with so many injuries - Washington Post
The Denver Broncos are feeling really good about their pass rush and more than a little nervous about their run defense.

NFL rushing leader Arian Foster disses Fantasy Football in tweet about his injury - Peter King - SI.com
My fourth and final week on the camp trail started in Houston (interesting Mario Williams stuff) and Dallas (Jerry Jones tried to sell me a very large stadium), continued with the transplanted Saints (that's a good-looking team) in California, veered south to the endless sauna that is Phoenix (Larry Fitzgerald is one happy Kolb fan), then red-eyed East into the path of Hurricane Irene, thus ending my month driving/flying to check out the post-lockout NFL.

Kyle Orton has Denver Broncos' offense piling up points in the NFL preseason - The Denver Post
When the critics line up to assail Kyle Orton, there is one familiar refrain: He cant score!
Denver Broncos' offense rebounds from slow start against Seattle Seahawks - The Denver Post
One of former coach Josh McDaniels major concerns last season was the Broncos struggles to prevent one loss from becoming a losing streak.
Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow target of heated controversy on sports media - The Denver Post
The electronic Tim Tebow Tempest will continue to boil this week, even though his Saturday night performance produced a mixed offensive bag.
Hot Corner: Tim Tebow wasn't worth first-round pick | al.com
It is still early, but it is becoming more apparent that Tim Tebow will not succeed as a starting quarterback in the NFL. I could see him possibly staying in the league as a situational player.
Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams out 3-4 weeks with dislocated elbow - The Denver Post
In a good news/bad news world, the Broncos may have received just OK news on the injury front after Saturday nights 23-20 preseason victory against Seattle at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
Q&A: NFL kickoff rule change also alters defensive strategy on extra points - The Denver Post
The move to have teams kick off from the 35-yard line, out from the 30, was made largely in the interest of player safety.

Here's what I don't understand about the Carolina Panthers. They scouted Cam Newton, drafted Cam Newton, then signed Cam Newton. And now they want him to be Jake Delhomme. (TL NOTE: Gee, but its okay to do it to Tebow?)
Chiefs trying to get offense in gear - KansasCity.com
An NFL team is generally in a bad way if it carries a sense of urgency into the final preseason game. But that’s where the Chiefs might be heading into Thursday night’s game against the Packers in Green Bay.
Rookie Taiwan Jones Impresses In Preseason Debut " NFL Mocks
In my Sunday Six pack of questions previewing the Raiders and Saints game I was wondering if rookie Denarius Moore was the real deal for the Oakland Raiders. I had the right idea wondering about an Oakland Raiders rookie, but the wrong player.

I was watching Taiwan Jones last night
That kid is wicked fast, but he cannot block. Look for him to play a role like Dexter McCluster did last year for the Chiefs. 3rd downs, screens and draws. He could be a situational weapon, but won’t be an everydown player for awhile.

I've seen much better tackling. I am guessing the run D will finish somewhere between 14th-20th.
Not great, but far better than the worst run D in NFL history. ;)
Steps…if we get to the QB and generate turnovers, the run D will only hurt this team against some of the better run teams. I’ll take that compared to last season. One step at a time…

frightened inmate #2 the Denver broncos can't possibly fix everything in a months time of training camp. That's nearly immpossible.
The Denver Broncos will be playing in the light of 2010 until they show they can cotrol the LOS on running downs. That’s all the MSM have to go by, so that’s what they’ll be using as a measuring stick until our defense can stop it or slow it down.
We have witnessed a much improved Elvis Dumervil and Joe Mays in the in the run stopping game in the short time frame they have been playing and it shows that good coaches bring out the talent in a player.
I watched Kevin Vickerson man handle Seattle’s LG and LT on a coulple of plays. That tells me he gets it, I noticed Robert Ayers doing what he does best taking on double teams and containing the edge on running plays.I even noticed Ryan McBean being around the ball on some plays. They get it and they are playing like the know what’s coming and I haven’t seen that confused look on any of their faces like I did in almost every game last year, the get it… Sure this defense will give up some runs, all teams do, but they bend and don’t break and that’s what creates championship caliber teams.
I believe the Broncos will still focus on pressuring the quarterback with stunts and disguised looks. For not having a full summer of coaching/teaching these guys are playing like they are on a mission. The tRaiders game on Monday night in front of the world will be the game that shows what kind of moxie this team will have going forward. Great job so far.

Denver will be the surprise team of 2011
according to commentators at the Saints-Raiders game last night.
If I can't have high expectations that succeed, I''d rather have high expectations and be disappointed than have low expectations and be resigned to losing.

Blind chicken
Legwold made a good point.
For all the things Josh McDaniels did poorly regarding personnel, signing Brandon Lloyd on offense and trading running back J.J. Arrington to the Eagles for Mays are two moves that have worked.
