Tebow vs. Orton
It really doesn’t matter to me.
This team is not going to make the playoffs without exceptional QB play (the D-line moves are far better then what we had last year, but that is not anything to brag about).
If Orton starts, then is it really that bad of a thing?
Chances are he goes something like 3-6 in the first 10 weeks. At which point we will have finished most of our inner-division stretch and will be firmly out of the playoffs.
Then Tebow will get a 7-week audition.
Everyone should look at the big picture.
1) Tebow is the long-term answer at QB on this roster. Why else would they have attempted to deal Orton immediately. They couldn’t get a deal done, so he probably starts.
2) Tebow is probably not ready to be a starter. I fully believe that he would win games just because that’s what he does. However the big picture is not this season, where we are truthfully not logically destined for the playoffs. So, he sits and learns the game some more, gets a 6-8 game trial and then goes into next season as the starter. If he’s not ready then what’s the rush?
In the end, there is only one thing that stands between Tebow and eventually being the full-time starter and that’s drafting a QB next year.
If everyone truely believes that Tebow will eventually be the man, then you believe that he will prove enough in training camp, practices and eventually in game time to justify passing on a QB next year and instead getting help elsewhere on the roster (where it is desperately needed).
I couldn’t care less who starts this year because I am very confident that Tebow will show enough to justify passing on a QB or trading up for one next year.
Orton is gone either way after this season (unless he plays out of his mind and makes the playoffs, then he might be traded for a first round pick or justifiably would be signed long-term).
Another year of seasoning for all these youngsters and another 365 days to develop for Tebow and some pressure free game time is not the end of the world…..anyone that doesnt bleed orange and blue might tell you that’s exactly what is needed.

During preseason is when it heats up...
Teams like Miami and Washington will have a pretty (ugly) good perception of what they have and what they need. I foresee one of those teams come screaming on the phone ~ “whatever it takes”, we want Orton. Or maybe not and EFX realize that and probably have a plan for it. Tim “The Practice Dummy” Tebow has had his struggles at TC this year and last, but what we have on him (bless whoever hit Orton) game tape that tells a different story. We all know how that chapter of Tim Tebow’s NFL career unfolded. Don’t need excuses or terrible (eye sore) analysis of how he is doing in camp…Show me what Tim brings when the team is on the playing field, because we all know too how smooth and fluid Kyle orton is in practice.
Either way at the end of the day (end of the 4th preseason game) I feel that EFX will make the best decision of what’s best for this team’s success, not what us JoeFan want…
Not to get anybodies hopes up, but the broncos could win a fair amount of games this year
Woody Paige got me thinking about this. I figure the broncos will get one game from each divisional team. So that’s three. Bengals, Bills, and even I’d say the lions are wins. Winable games: Miami, Titians, Jets, and Pats. If the broncos were able to stop Chris Johnson last year with less talent on the field, then the broncos should have the same sucess this year. With better coaching and players I can only imagine the broncos would have the same sucess. Plus Bailey/Dawkins owned Hasselback last year—even Perrish Cox. The reason why I have the Jets/Pats as winable because the broncos always seem to play well against those teams. You just can’t explain certain things sometimes.
The games I don’t see the broncos winning: Vikings, Packers, and even the bears. Note though: if the broncos pass rushing shows up for these games, then the broncos could win. All three teams are the worst at pass protection and the broncos should be athletic enough to chase down Rodgers. Plus the packer game should be a mini super bowl anyways, so the broncos should be fired up to begin with.
So record wise the broncos can win 5-6 games, but could win 9-10 games. Like I said, I don’t want to get anyones hopes up, but it could be possible. I should also add on, that the broncos almost took two games from the chiefs last year.

Any game is winnable
That’s what is great about football. Last year the Browns were one of only 2 teams to beat the Pats in the regular season. That said, I think the Broncos could win their 1st 3, possibly beat SD at home also, if they show up like they did for the season closer. Great points about the Titans and Chiefs last year, we had a horrible run D but it decided to show up for these 3 games. Now they need to start the season off right by ending Oaklands ownership at Invesco and smashing them on Sept 12th

Alot of our success will hing on how our newly formed defense fuses together around the new coaches philosophy and scheme.
Nothing hurts a tem any worser than a terrible defense and bad special teams play. The offense and defense can feed off of eachother. if that can hapen then it would be tough for anybody to beat us. if they don’t become a cohesive unt then things get very sticky real fast. I won’t get my hopes up until they ‘show me’ even if I’m not from Missouri.
I really think we have a chance at winning any game on our schedule cause no team is unbeatable. i really dont get these fans talking like we just going to loose a game just because its a good team. I mean didnt the seahawks beat the saints in the playoffs last year come on yall. Thats why they say any given sunday. And i would really like them to start tebow but if our defense can be better which i think it will and have an actuall run game which i also think we will then we can win alot of games with orton also.
I'm not saying the broncos are going 16-0 haha
The teams I said the broncos would lose to are fair points. AP is going to be hard to stop, but I do believe the broncos can win a good amount of games. Especially with the raiders losing talent and the broncos adding talent/coaching. I wouldn’t be suprsied if the broncos made a run right away. Remember this, Dennis Allen was apart of a transformation that resulted in the saints going from 4 wins the previous year to the NFC championship. So it is possible and nice to have coaches that have experienced quick turnarounds.
Also I know you didn’t mean the broncos are going 16-0 either, but I do agree, every game is winable in football.

BRONCOS 4 LIFE
That article about Brady Quinn was a great snap shot McD’s real personality. The man is volatile and someone that shots-from-the-hip.
I remember McD calling Cutler “the player”, but these guys are not robots. McD trades for Brady Quinn, lies to him then screws Brady over while still expecting some kind of results. Make that up as just another shot yourself in the foot failure of the McD regime.
I wonder if Josh ever looks back on all the misfires and wonders, "were guys like Phonz, Rich Quinn, Wink and Brady Quinn the failures that let me down or was I the failure"?
With Josh’s hubris, my guess is the former. He was taught to point the figure at himself, but successful men can do that, while unsuccessful men can’t survive too many "my bad moments". Deep down, I bet Josh harbors a lot of anger and blame towards his many misfires in Denver. He should be mad at Joe Ellis for giving him too much power, but I bet he is actually bitter at the players and coaches that didn’t perform up to expectations.
Guess we’ll find out in his next job.
"Well at least we picked a good year to suck" said Pat Bowlen after countersigning Von Miller's rookie contract.

I don't think that Josh McDaniels ever thinks of himself as a failure, his little man ego won't let him.
Will he be a good coach one day? I believe he will, but not now.
Thanks as always Tim
An addition if I may..
Bfree2bronc found this article from the Boston Herald detailing the falling out of Ty Warren with New England.
It’s a great read to better understand how our prized pickup came to be in Denver
OK, so Brian and The Johns really did very well at the Defensive Tackle position, especially considering the limited cash budget they likely had to work with. I no longer hear laughter from opposing RBs in my nightmares!!!

Great Article
I’m liking this Ty Warren guy and it looks like he can play.
The article confirms everything I believe to be true about Belidick.
Thank Rodney for the reference...
I stayed up late last night doing some research and that article jumped out at me like a pedestrian from the sidewalk. I am also a little discouraged by reports of Bunkley of the day before where one article from the Cleveland Plains Dealer stated he didn’t pass his physical. Seemed like everybody was willing to accept that girls article as the truth. I have found several articles “DEBUNKING” that article saying he ‘never’ went. To me somebodies lying and telling the reading audience whatever they want to please their appetite…The truth will set you free and the Boston Herald article gave me a sense that Bill Belichick is running that team now not the GM, just like Shanny did here in Denver and just like ‘lil’ Napoleon tried to do until John (William Wallace) Elway stepped in and cut his head off…
hahaha
Ya, I agree with both. BB is certainly running the team over there as both HC and GM like our own Napolean tired to do – although I guess the difference is in the W’s. As for Bunkley, I’m def on board with the thought that the story was planted by the Browns and never rebuffed by anyone else out of a hush-hush pact to move on. Conspiracy-esque? Yes. But it still makes sense.
I think Bunkely either never showed up or he else he showed up and said he didn’t want to play there. Either way, the Browns would have been in position to try to win the battle and make him play – while allowing the media to find out that the player refuses to play for them, the lowly Brownies (embarrassing)… or to ship him back to the Eagles and void the deal.
OK, so Brian and The Johns really did very well at the Defensive Tackle position, especially considering the limited cash budget they likely had to work with. I no longer hear laughter from opposing RBs in my nightmares!!!
Nice find bfree...and thanks for the link Rodney.
While I’m an admitted Kool-aid drinker I’m liking our acqisitions more and more.
