Who makes the final cut on the D-Line? There's gonna be some tough ones.
We're gonna have some very tough cuts to make on the D-line given all the guys we've brought in, and the fact that outside of Warren and Doom, there's really no obvious choices. John Fox has typicaly kept 5 DE's(at least one of which can play some tackle), and surprisingly only 3 DT's as a result of that, so keep that in mind when you make your choices, but either way, only 8 lineman are making this team. Who are your 8?
In the hunt (no order, position listed refers to 4-3 position):
Elvis Dumervil (RE)
Robert Ayers (LE/possible 3rd down DT)
Jason Hunter (LE/RE)
Mario Haggan (RE/LE)
Jeremy Beal (RE/LE)
Derrick Harvey (RE/LE)
David Veikune (RE)
Ty Warren (DT/LE)
Marcus Thomas (DT)
Kevin Vickerson( (DT)
Jeremy Jarmon (DT/LE)
Broderick Bunkley (DT)
Louis Leonard (DT)
Ryan McBean (DT)
Mitch Unrein (DT)
Ronell Brown (DT)
Cutting that down to 8 is gonna be incredibly tough. My guess:
Elvis Dumervil
Robert Ayers
Jason Hunter
Jeremy Beal
Jeremy Jarmon(because of his ability to play inside and out, he's the 5th end technically for my picks)
Ty Warren
Marcus Thomas
Kevin Vickerson
That leaves out some solid guys, it's gonna be the hardest position to make cuts at imo, and a week ago Louis Leonard was talking first team reps. I'm real glad we have some depth, but i'm real interested to see what you guys think because I hear some people acting like we're gonna be able to some how gonna be able to carry 10 lineman.

OK!
The crazy part is that, so many of us (not me) doubted that we would even have these choices to make!
After all of the three or four days of NON lock out time, and peeps were wondering why we had NOT signed a DT that would promise us the SB?
Now we have to choose? Ya just gotta love the patience!
It is better to keep silent, and appear to be wise, then to ramble on and remove all doubt! The Wisest Man, Solomon.
To early to tell, preseason will no doubt weed some...
Trade Elvis and DJ to Carolina for next years first round pick and we pick Luck…How about that…
Die now,and then nothing matters anymore!
How about that?

LMAO
I try, but I have a hard time of it on an off day! I really need these guys to pass the jug of koolaid now and then,,,I can add what we all need to make our week better!
OOOOOOOOOOPs! Added the SHINE! CRAP!
We are all in trouble now!

My prediction:
DE: Elvis,Ayers,Hunter,Harvey,
DT: Thomas,Vick,Bunkley,Warren,
Jarmon and Beal to the practice squad
We really need to see some pre-season action to have a better idea though.

You are right on Bunkley will make this team he is a beast.

these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence."
I'd trade Jarmon for McBean
But I like your list and think it would be the best options we have.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.
McBean? Mr. face mask. Mr. every team runs directly at me because I can’t hold my ground?
McBean is toast. He was incredibly lucky to have had an NFL job last season thanks to McD’s inability to draft D-line.
"Well at least we picked a good year to suck" said Pat Bowlen after countersigning Von Miller's rookie contract.
Have you seen Jarmon play?
He’s worse, if not one of the worst guys in camp, plain and simple. I wouldn’t be surprised if neither made it, but Jarmon barely made the terrible ’Skins squad last year, and if you are almost cut from a bad defense before the season starts, that says something about you.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.
Hoping they keep 9 DLinemen...
DTs; Warren, Bunkley, Thomas and Vickerson.
DEs; Dumerville, Ayers, Harvey, Hunter and Jarmon.
PS; Beal and Unrein.
Aren't at least a couple of these guys
being looked at as OLB’s. I keep hearing how so many of our pick ups can move around and we may be using a hybrid or switching between the 3/4 and 4/3. Don’t we almost have ot make one pool of DLine and LB’s, then pick?
See, I read all that stuff and now I can mangle it …. Do I get it or am I way off?
Opinions are like......, Well anyway, this is mine.
you're off a little
Some of these guys play OLB in a 3-4 but couldn’t in a 4-3 at all. None of these guys will make the team because of their ability at OLB unless we end up deciding we’ll be in 3-4 most of the time which i don’t see.
all right
So you start at 16.
Cut Ronell Brown since I’ve never heard of him. That’s 15.
Cut Unrein and Leonard – that’s 13.
Put Beals on PS – I think we would have heard a few flashed out of him by now if he were seriously overlooked in the draft. That’s 12.
Disregard Haggan, I think he’s LB if anything. That’s 11.
I think either McBean or Vickerson is gone. That’s 10.
I like Veikune’s potential but we have 2-3 other guys with potential too. So I’ll guess Veikune disappears. That’s 9.
Finally I’ll guess that either Harvey or Jarmon is gone. Hard to tell which because I don’t really know the difference between them, but I categorize them together. :)
Kyle Orton: there for you until you need him most.
I’ll need to see him in preseason, but I don’t think Ayers is a lock to make the 2011 Broncos.
"Well at least we picked a good year to suck" said Pat Bowlen after countersigning Von Miller's rookie contract.
By my projection I have him locked as LDE
I guess we will have to see him in preseason

From what I hear...
Fox usually keeps 5 ends and 4 tackles on the roster for a total of nine.
I think the ends will be Dumerville, Ayers, Harvey, Jarmon, Hunter/Roth (if we get him)
Tackles will be Warren, Bunkley, Thomas, Vickerson
Just want to reiterate with Beal
He’d likely be signed away before we could practice squad him imo, or would be within a couple weeks, that’s why i had him on, but i have no allegiances to him, and wouldn’t be crushed if we cut him.
I doubt it
Who’s gonna have room to sign him?
in other words Who are we gonna cut to sign a random 7th round pick?

*7th round pick of someone elses?

Bunk is a starter
OK, so Brian and The Johns really did very well at the Defensive Tackle position, especially considering the limited cash budget they likely had to work with. I no longer hear laughter from opposing RBs in my nightmares!!!

Agree OP missed him in his list

No Bunkley dude???
ummmmm, not gonna happen.
"When Tim Tebow does pushups, he's not pushing himself up, he's pushing the world down."
"Gear down there big shifter This is the "No Bull" review man…" a total Lebowski-esque one liner from Sadaraine, whether he realizes it or not - comedic gold.
To be honest I no nothing about Jarmon
But I’m assuming based on the trade hes okay since Gaffney is a quality player…. (trying to read into anything I can)
