Ten years ago today the Denver Broncos opened their brand new stadium Invesco Field at Mile High on a Monday night game against the New York Giants. Ed McCafferey broke his leg in gruesome fashion and despite the 31-20 victory I was one, 16 year old depressed and devistated Bronco fan. That is until the next morning when our world changed forever and put sports into perspective for all of us. The date was 9/10/2001.
I find it hard to put into words my feelings this weekend. I am on one hand psyched to start another Bronco season. On the other its an emotional and sad weekend for all of us. As a tribute to all of the fallen on 9/11/01 I'm posting two sports related articles by Rick Reilly and Shaun Powell.
