Tim Tebow Not Expected to Play Against Raiders

PrintEd Werder reported on ESPN's Monday Night Countdown that Tim Tebow will be in uniform, but he doesn't expect to play against the Raiders.
Of course, this shouldn't be much of an issue because Kyle Orton is the starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos. However, for whatever reason, people really seem to care about the backup quarterback position. Does this assume that Brady Quinn would play if Kyle Orton gets hurt? Possibly, but if things go the way they are supposed to, Kyle Orton will lead the Broncos to a win tonight, without help from Quinn or Tebow.
Another interesting note from Werder is the vantage point of John Elway. Instead of entertaining executives, John will be seated in the coaching booth. This will allow him to be more in-tune with the playcalling and the overall flow of the game.
As more news develops, leading up to the Monday Night Football game, we'll be sure to pass it along. Keep it locked onto MHR, all night.

Hmmm.
Look at the thread on the main page below this one. Now look at the photo that accompanies it closely. Notice which player jersey is the only jersey that has a player’s name on it. Yeah, that’s right. It’s Tebow.
I’m not a Tebow lover or hater but this website sure does pander to Tebow quite a bit. I understand the need to drive page views for the advertisers. But at some point it becomes ludicrous. A fan site should be about the whole team. As it stands, the actual starting QB is nothing but a sideshow to the Tebow circus. There has been more focus on who isn’t starting than who actually is starting.
Sorry to be so negative but I came to the site tonight to root for my team and the first two posts I see are all about Tebow. It’s sucks.

You should visit more often. Tebow does blanket this site but mostly thanks to contributors, not staff. I see a Samual Jackson “Are you ready for some Football” post below this so they are separated.
Just let the Tebow go.
Tebow was a 1st round pick and is a hot topic. My best advice if you want to see less about him that you avoid mentioning him in your posts.

Why dress 3 QBs???? Dress Quinn or dress Tebow and carry another special teams player that may actually contribute… having 3 QBs active is retarded…
A team can only have 45 active players for a game
But they can have 46 if there are 3 QB’s. It’s the new rule.
....because sometimes your inner cowboy needs to yodel.
As I understand it the new rule is that active roster (active players for game day) is now 46 players. There is no more rule specific to third QBs, and if there is a third QB he must be on the active roster to play, but there are no more restrictions on QB usage.
So on other words, we can now choose to activate all three QBs and we won’t be restricted in their use, or we get to activate one more other player over what we have been able to do in the pass.

I believe the rule is as I stated it above. Just two QB’s, the active total is limited to 45.
It’s true that there are no silly restictions on the 3rd QB playing, like in the past (where if the 3rd QB came in, he had to stay in, unless….)
....because sometimes your inner cowboy needs to yodel.
I’ve seen articles like this that lead me to believe that the active roster is now 46 with no more QB exceptions. Not to say that the internet hasn’t ever been wrong…

I’ve seen nothing but comments on message boards that describe the rule as 45 or 46 if the 46th is a QB, but articles, like these:

suggest that the roster is simply expanded to 46 players, period.
And now I can see we have only seven inactives, whereas before we had seven plus another designated as the third QB. Raiders also seven. By all appearances it is 46.

I don’t think he should be calling plays or anything, but as Sean said being up there and seeing whats going on, in addition to checking out the talent on the field, maybe get in McCoy’s head and see how he’s thinking during a game can’t be a bad idea IMO.
If McCoy is uncomfortable with Elway up there, I would hope they have the rapport such that he can tell Elway that. Otherwise, I can’t see what harm it would do.

Seeing as he was only ever effective in special packages at goal line
(and this is nothing against Tim) I’m glad we won’t be seeing him. I hated all those special wild horse packages from the last couple years. They never worked outside of the goal line.
