Wow! What a dissapointing loss. To the hated Raiders at that. First, I'd like to say I am not an Orton fan or a Tebow fan. Quite frankly, I think if you put the two together we'd have one hell of a quarterback. But the Orton hate has got to stop. This was a team loss. To point the finger soley at Orton is dillusional. To read the backlash you would think every negative play last night was Ortons fault. Not so.
Was it Ortons fault that the team had several nice offensive plays called back due to a holding penalty? No. Was it Ortons fault that whether trying to establish the run or in pass protection his O-line was a sieve? No. Was it Ortons fault that KM fumbled a ball deep in our territory? No. Was it Ortons fault that a career coach was outcoached by somebody coaching his first game? No. Was it Ortons fault that Fox called for a 57 yard field goal in a downpour that if missed would give the ball to Oakland at almost midfield? No. Was it Ortons fault that he had at least 2 perfectly thrown balls that if caught by his receivers they would still be running? No. Was it Ortons fault that the D had a chance for a 3 and out but gave up a 20 yard run up the gut on a 3rd and 13 that led to Oakland points? No. Was it Ortons fault that on a play when Oakland was just trying to kill the clock we commit a 15 yard face masking penalty that led to a league tying 63 yard field goal? No. A 63 yarder, in the rain guys. A play that had only happened twice before in the history of the league. Was it Ortons fault that somebody totally missed an assignment that led to a blocked punt which led to Oakland points? No.
The fact of the matter is the issues on this team run far deeper than Orton v. Tebow. Until we can take over the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball it don't matter who is playing quarterback, its going to be a struggle. Yet, whoever plays quarterback for this team I will always say GO BRONCOS
