I want to start with the good to ease into the bad.... Special Teams played well, the D made a few nice redzone stops and Orton got his first TD of the season...Okay.... well when I started this section I was assuming there was going to be more to say... O'well not my fault, I am just an optimistic I guess.
Now on to the bad (don't worry it starts off kinda positive)
First off for all of you blaming him, Orton's inconsistent play (272,1TD, 1INT, 1 FUM) was the result of you not being able to establish the run and in doing so forcing him to carry the team (something he can't do). As far as the fumble goes with the rain it wasn't a surprise, and I think because of how big that play could have been a lot of you are being extra hard on him (I get it though cuz if JC did it I would want his head!). The Interception was the result of a great play by Giordano on a under thrown ball. Orton shouldn't have thrown it, but 9/10 that is an incomplete pass: once again I think you are being overly harsh on Orton. Now, Tim "God Owes Me A Starting QB Spot" Tebow would have been abused if he tried to step in, and for all of you who doubt it there will be no b*tching when you get your way and realize how below par Tebow is as a QB (I was actually hoping for Tebow to play cuz I knew that would have sealed our win earlier). Tebow could have never orchestrated that 80 yard TD drive. We had your run game locked down and Tebow wouldn't have made any difference. Orton is your best shot at the moment and Tebow will get you nowhere, so playing Tebow over Orton is like us playing Pryor over Campbell (not a smart move). Second, You need to establish the run if you are ever going to win cuz 13 for 30yrds is not cutting it. I thought Moreno was supposed to be a beast in the backfield and that the Mcgahee Moreno tandem was supposed to be amazing... Clearly I was misinformed... Now, I was surprised at how well our D held-up against the run and I know that we did a great job... but 13 for 30 just can't happen!
Now, for your D it would help if Sunshine and Rainbow... or "Doom and Gloom" as you guys like to call them... were as dominant as you all make them out to be (I know they probably are, but in a Division Rivalry Game you should be seeing their best performances). I know Sunshine hurt his shoulder and was used sparingly, but our O-line (especially Kalif Barnes and Heyer (RT)) are not very good which is something Rainbow should have exposed... I expected 4 sacks from them ( 1 from Sunshine and 3 from Rainbow) simply based on the fact that our right side is so weak... but they did nothing (Aside from the nice play Rainbow had on my boy Ford)... I know we didn't drop back to pass often, but come on... I expected so much more. Also... knowing the Raiders are a run first pass if you have to team... HOW in Buddha's Bonzi Bamboo Tree did Darren "I Own Mile High" McFadden go for 150 on you? SERIOUSLY! You only stacked the Box on him 3 times... 3 times... Have you not learned your lesson? Do you still think this is the same guy from 08 and 09? Should have loaded the box and prayed that Campbell played average like always (which is a pretty good bet because when we plan for you we plan to run)... It was as if you thought we were going to pass on every down... WTF? And I know the score was 23-20 but the game was not that close - Your ST played well on that return TD and Orton had one nice drive, but branch gave away a fumble recovery and our Defence handed you yardage on penalties (without those yards Orton would never had gotten a TD)... Anyway... It was a great game, I love the rivalry and I respect your loyalty to your Broncos, and I hope that this loss helps you ease into what looks to be another rough season. Until week 9 good lu... well I wont go that far... but enjoy the season!
RAIDER NATION BABY!!!!
