Sterling Sharpe on Orton..
“Right now it’s Kyle Orton’s job, and he needs to right the ship a little bit”. I would say that’s an understatement for the whole team. They all need to get their collective act together or it’s going to be an ugly season. There were plenty of bright spots in the game and there were plenty of mistakes to spread around. Thos team like Doc Bear over at IAOFM made a comment saying this team is playing like a bunch of indiviuals instead of playing like a team. That’s normal most times when teams go through transitions and new regimes, but it doesn’t alieve the pain us fans go through each and every week scratching our heads wondering what the hell went wrong…Kyle Orton is a mid sized picture in the big picture of failure and they all know it…
All 53 or 45
whatever, need to do their part, the Colts were obviously the only team that wasn’t true for when Peyton was healthy because now all the stars are healthy (except #18) they suck

Is it quite possible the Broncos dinged the tRaiders up enough that the Bills could beat them in Buffalo?
The Chiefs have a nightmare aginst the Lions ferocious defense and Cassel may have a hard time surviving, as with the Chargers going up against New England. The Broncos have a chance to be tied for first place with a victory Sunday against the Bengals at home…
If the Broncos come out of the first three games at anything less than 2-1, we’ll be right in the mix for a top 5 pick in 2012.
We are right in the middle of the easy part of the schedule. That Oakland loss was a bad one since it was at home to a banged up team with a QB that might be worse than ours.
Cindy has a pretty solid D-line with some nice young pass rushers. Orton will find it not one bit easier on Sunday, esp if we don’t have the WR he loves to lock onto and force passes… Lloyd.
No waiver claims on a team with roster spots for Ramirez, Hochstein, Clark, Ball, McBean, Unrein, and Chris Harris? Was Xanders not watching our preseason games? Was he not watching any other team's preseason games?
Concentration, concentration and more concentration...
I can’t help but think that Kyle Orton kept thinking in the back of his mind about the 59-14 debacle…It seemed like he would be focused on a few plays then lose that focus, under throwing, throwing wide, throwing behind, not getting the open receiver on more than one occasion, and brain to hand memory with the fumble…
seemed the opposite to me
looked like classic tightness and pressing. But all the same result. Not in the right mental state for sure.
i keep dancing on my own.
I saw a comment somewhere saying that
Orton actually did better when Lloyd wasn’t in the game. It actually kind of makes sense given his tendencies. If Lloyd isn’t in the game, then he actually has to LOOK for the open receiver. I hate to say it, but an injured Lloyd might be just what the doctor ordered for our offense (and I have Lloyd on my FF team).
Orton goes thru the same progressions as Tebow if Lloyd is on the field running a route. I.E. One progression.
Ort drops back, stares at Lloyd, forces a pass or takes the fetal position for sack # 6 on the night. He did play better when he was forced, kicking and screaming, to look for Decker or Royal.
Kyle did do a good job of getting the ball to Fells. I forgot what a TE was the last two years.
No waiver claims on a team with roster spots for Ramirez, Hochstein, Clark, Ball, McBean, Unrein, and Chris Harris? Was Xanders not watching our preseason games? Was he not watching any other team's preseason games?
I don’t know if Lloyd was in the game during the scoring drive, but I know he wasn’t targeted a single time and look what happened.
It pretty sad that in order to spread the ball around (and actually move the chains), you have to pull one of your best players simply because the QB refuses to throw to anyone else.
I do not believe Lloyd was out there for the scoring drive
"Bombs dropping down overhead. Underground. It's instilled to want to live." -EV
actually it wasnt because Lloyd was out we went to our pass packages the series before Lloyd was out
Once we decided to simply spread them out and throw it we were great.
We should have started the game in no huddle got some positive plays going and then settled into our run packages . Make them play from behind and alter there game plan.
Im looking at it right now on game rewind and when we are in 2 wideout a back and a te he was trying to go to Fells ,Royal,Lloyd and either Knowson or Mcgahee whoever was in the game .
later when we moved to more spread options he involved Willis and Decker
We didnt come out of the block in attack mode but in a lets feel the game out mode which should be suspected considering our OC is only in his 4th game calling plays .
The plays we ran in the 4th were not the ones we ran in the 4th
I think you're right
McGeorge, I do think we’re good enough to beat the Bengals and Titans, we must

It looks like fans around the Denver are will be seeing two billboards go up in downtown Denver..."Time to play Tebow"

What a circus.
Orton probably hates playing for Denver more than Brandon Marshall. One more reason Ort looks so sedated and nonchalant out there.
No waiver claims on a team with roster spots for Ramirez, Hochstein, Clark, Ball, McBean, Unrein, and Chris Harris? Was Xanders not watching our preseason games? Was he not watching any other team's preseason games?
I bet he is thinking that right about now.
He still has a shot in Denver, but it won’t last beyond two more games if he continues to play like he has in the last three.

Either Orton flourishes under the pressure or he wilts. If he flourishes, great, we have a legit starting QB and he can help us win games, and hopefully the fanbase will be won over by his grit. If he wilts, he has to be replaced. I certainly want him to succeed, but like you say, he cannot continue playing in this manner and start. Each time he runs into a DLs arms for a sack I lose patience.

is there a way that a team can pay part of a player's salary
if he is traded to facilitate the trade?
i keep dancing on my own.
Based purely on the performance of Orton and Henne Monday night, Miami is rejoicing that Orton priced himself too high.
Mediocrity is like a lollipop: lick it once and you'll suck forever.
Sticking with Kyle Orton is like taking your cousin to the Homecoming Dance - you're openly admitting that you had no other options, and it's guaranteed that nothing is happening after the early dance.
Keep putting the pressure on Orton.
He’ll either break and we get Tebow, or he’ll become invincible and we’ll kick major ass.

Yes, keep the pressure on
This whole “I don’t care what the fans think” is the wrong attitude to have IMO
You don’t care what your paying customers think? That’s half the problem

Dude makes $8.8MM this year, was the starting QB of the worst Bronco team in memory, continues to play like crap and doesn’t care what we think. Hence, a lack of popularity.
Not really a big shocker really.

The problem is that Denver fans want to love their QB
And everything Orton says and does makes us hate him.
TurfSharks.com
The Problem is....
Mr. Tinman Orton forgets who is paying that $8.8MM contract of his. The fans. I don’t live in Denver and nor do I go to any games, but I support the Broncos through and through. Orton is a freaking PRACTICE PLAYER and will always be a PRACTICE PLAYER. He needs to “PUT UP AND SHUT-UP” and put the Tebow chants and billboards to bed. If he actually came out and played instead of running his mouth, then the Tebow chatter would go away. I, for one, believe the only thing Tebow offers that is better is that a sack won’t come as easy with Tebow as they are coming with Orton. Move your damn feet for hell sakes and don’t look like a “deer in the headlights.” Don’t piss your pants when a little pressure is applied.

I disagree NewEra
The guy is trying to concentrate on his job. If he let’s everyone else get to him. he won’t be able to function at all. This town loves QB’s. Remember Plummer’s flipping the bird to the crowd? That is the other side of the coin. You just can’t please everyone and you can’t live your life trying to. The media won’t like that answer and exploit it because Kyle won’t give them a quote and make their job easier for them. That kind of journalism has been going on for years.

Correct..... But
You are correct Kaptain but what Orton doesn’t seem to get is that when he says the doesn’t care about what the fans think he is really taking a shot at the fan who can barely afford to go to a game knowing full well that their hard erned money is going into the players pocket. Whether he cars or not is not important. But what he says in public and especially about the people who are paying to see him is very important! He should be smart enough to realize that.
I know what you're
saying Kaptain, I just think that the attitude is the wrong way to approach it. Tough situation he’s in, not saying I’d do much better in the same one. If they’re booing me I’d be like go to hell too.
Just seems like he could say something different, like it was a bad game we’ll work on it. Not “I don’t care….what the fans think” The only thing the fans are going to here is I don’t care about he fans.
Release the Tebow!
there is nothing he could SAY that is gonna stop the fools from doing what they do . The only thing he can do is win thats the only thing that changes his situation Orton pulling one of these does him no good and only lets his whole team knows he more
concerned about the fans than doing his job.

Thanks for the Tracks Tim
I’m disheartened by Orton’s attitude towards the fans. It’s “like he doesn’t care”? or he doesn’t?
I mean, I don’t blame him, given the glaring lack of support he’s gotten from the general fan base – but that’s no way to win ‘em back, as it were. Obviously that’s far from a priority for him, but for the folks, such as myself – who don’t believe he should be benched/traded/cut just because of last game, he’s certainly not helping me retain the level of appreciation I had for him with that attitude and those remarks.
Regardless, I still hope he kicks as much Bengal tail as possible next week.
As long as he’s a Bronco, I’ll hope he does the best possible. But it’ll certainly be nice to have a QB that DOES give a crap about his fans/having fans. Orton seems to forget that he does have fans, or doesn’t care. Kinda sad, but there are certainly more important things.

which is just as much about the front office as the fans. Why exactly should he give a discount to play for Miami? They’re not exactly a playoff team.

because nobody else wanted him for the money he wanted either which means he is overpriced for what his skillset offers
including us or he wouldn’t have been on the trading block and a deal would be in the works for an extension which just doesn’t seem to be in the works…………thankfully!

I think he was right to let the linemen have it . They were simply having too many penalties and they couldnt even run the offense because of it .
They had to get focused and get mad because they were being ragdolled on some plays. Ortons closer to the linemen than anyone else on the team and they needed a wakeup call so to speak .
I fully expect Orton and the Oline to look great against the Bengals and everyone will be wondering where the heck was this last week .
Cincy is an even worse match up than the Raiders. They have some really good young DEs that Franklin will have to figure out how to deal with.

Appearance is the problem
That was the case when KO came to Denver. He was accepted and welcomed as a Bronco.
But now that the fan base has seen him play, its painfully obvious that what appeared to be a good deal is now just an albatross around our collective necks! Remember, appearance’s can be deceiving and now were living it!
Is Tebow any better? I’d say not as a pure passer! Who also needs a great OL who can stop the pressure from coming.
Oh and a great defense to keep you in games. But we don’t have that do we!
Is KO better then Tebow?
I’d say not if the pressure is coming and you have to avoid sacks and make some plays knowing you have a subpar defense who cannot keep you in the game.
Thats the reality were in. The question isn’t who’s better, its who can handle the pressure and clearly, CLEARLY Tebow is built for that. I guess we can stick our heads in the sand and keep telling ourselves that if things were different maybe Orton could be great. Well, things aren’t different. and KO will never be a pressure QB. Period! All NFL QBs have to deal with pressure!
And for the people who keep saying Tebow doesn’t make his reads.. I’ve got news for you, neither does Orton.
