For this week Orton was 22nd out of 32, but 25th if you look at Total QB Rating over the first two games this year.
Remember, that Total Quarterback Rating focuses on how many POINTS the QB contributes to WINNING, that’s the point, Orton cost the team the most points in his sacks than any other quarterback over two games (- 7.0 points against the Raiders and -2.9 points against the Bengals). I know, before you say it, its the O-line’s fault, which is partially true, but Orton’s immobility is not ignored in Total QBR, so its about time we started figuring that in.
However, the Total EPA (expected points added [to a WIN]) was less than 1 point (0.7 points to be exact.
So, the bottom line is Orton is Orton; we know him and this is what he is. The argument then moves on to “what do we have in Tebow” [in GAMES]?
Even the old QB PASSING rating put Orton at 18th, which is still in the bottom half of QB ratings this last week.
