Around SBN: Drug Testing, Alistair Overeem & UFC 146's Potential Legacy

Pro Football Talk tweeted earlier this morning that Thompson tore his Achilles in last night's game against the Cardinals. The Broncos have yet to confirm, but seeing as how serious an Achilles injury typically is, it's not unfathomable to think that this report has merit. More on it as it develops.

Rats!

Really like his play, both as a CB and a return guy. Great dreads also.
I’m sure he had a job locked up.
Nothing you can’t overcome, young man. See you next season.

Personal relations consist of an uneasy truce between powerful, solitary fantasy systems.

tough break

we coulda used the depth given Cox’s poor showing this year.

That said, we’re talking about the dime back, so while rough, shouldn’t change anything too much. Cox looked decent at times last year, and won’t play much this year as long as champ/Goody stay healthy.

More concerning to me was Vaughn’s poor play last night… we need a good NB…. that may lead to a waiver wire look as much as anything.

when Cox has been plugged in with the 1st string defense in dime

I think he played well, in fact, doesn’t he have a pick this pre season?

I’m not an advocate for Cox, I could care less after last night, but I don’t think he will hinder us that much.

I wonder....

…how many owners have snapped their Achilles tendon thanks to an inactive off season thanks to the lockout that THEY started.

Oh, here it is right here. NONE. Yay! Champagne and luxury boxes for everyone!!!!!

Leave Tim Tebow alone. I don't hear him insulting YOUR footwork.

as a professional athlete

I would hope they stay on a strict training regiment regardless if there is football or not. This was not an injury due to lack of training, however. A tendon can tear just by walking, you muscle just does cooperate for a split second and boom, down you go.

The players knew

they had to be ready and you are dealing in speculation, no evidence to back your assertions. Let’s have a lockout moratorium, IT"S OVER ALL RIGHT

waiver wire will be huge for the Broncos this season

If Cox is gone as well

We could see some serious issues at CB. Sucks for Squid, hope he comes back strong next season.

The Season is Over.

Squid was the one cause of joy for me this year. Now that he’s gone? Who cares. #SquidorDie2011 #Dead #SquidorDie2012

While I hate this for the team, I hate it for Squid even more

I just hope Kenny McKinley taught our organization a valuable lesson and we do a good job of keeping an eye on this kid and making sure this injury isn’t going to leave him depressed and isolated.
