Damn
I was hoping for a Free Jello Pudding Pop promotion at the next home game.

late response
My impression is that Cosby provides a good backup at the slot, along with being likely to take over Royal’s PR duties until he returns or even after that. He was an interesting prospect coming out and his late draft slot was a reaction to his age. As an older rookie, he lacked the long-term payout that would have warranted a higher selection. His size limited him, too — 5’9. His original draft position underestimates his current value. He’s an athlete I had hoped we might draft in 2009.
Nalbone (his name was originally misspelled in sources) is on his second go-around with us. He’s also an interesting prospect from 2009. He garnered a lot of attention in the post-season all star circuit and was off the radar before that, coming from a small school.
Just a comment — I like the feel of these pickups, and that includes Jeremiah Johnson. There’s no guarantee that any of them will stay for long but they have the potential to help us.

correction
I believe I recall Mayock talking up Nalbone but he wasn’t invited to any all-star game or the Combine. I assume it was on Path to the Draft. Usually, these conversations are in the context of the post-season all-star circuit. Teams were aware of him even though he didn’t gain attention until late. His elevation to a 5th round pick in the draft tells you his stock had risen dramatically. And the number of teams willing to sign him — Miami, Minnesota, Denver, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, and Denver again (currently), shows that a lot of teams like his potential.
